To the people complimenting Goldenratio on his awareness of a scientific fact,

It isn't saying anything that Goldenratio knows the half-life of C-14. A common tactic among people who need to appear knowledgeable about subjects is to figure out the most common element on particular subjects and get enough of an understanding in order to casually drop the information when needed. Most of the time, knowing just enough about something to seem off hand in your knowledge allows other people to fill in the gaps and assume you know more than you actually do.

I figure Goldenratio here just knew that carbon dating was a thing and went to find the one bit of information he/she could find that even makes it possible to appear to "debunk" science and now uses it as a cure-all for all attempts at showing him/her reality.

@Canadiest: the idea that the world was created with whatever God felt like creating in the ground--like bones, or radioactive decay products that suggest great age--is basically the Omphalos Hypothesis in a nutshell. It's completely untestable and since it implies that the world we live in could be about three minutes old, I'm not even sure that it actually qualifies as an argument.

And if creationists accept it, it pretty much wipes out the idea that being an eyewitness of any happening matters at all, since if one accepts the Omphalos Hypothesis as being true, then one's memories are just as likely to be an artificial construct as the world in which one lives. So the "Were you there?" trope is toast too.
