The education system is nothing but a thought filter, a mind filter. They force minds to think in certain directions...and if the mind doesn't think in a certain way then it is turned away and/or deemed unsuccessful. The academia in this country is in the business of indoctrinating kids' minds at an early age...and they do this by withholding information and evidence that might otherwise shape their worldview in a way they don't like. As for those who slip through the cracks -- like you and me -- who question the orthodoxy, we are to be ridiculed and laughed at. If we decide to enter a field of science or medicine, we are not to be given jobs and/or we are publically embarrassed. Today's education system offers no room for dissenters. It's run much like a communist block country.

All I gotta say is the checks and balances of proper science and education must still mostly be in place.

I took a meteorology class last year in college. There was this girl in there who was practically a living Barbie doll with the intellectual depth of a spoon. On Halloween, she dressed up as a barmaid, but then went on to say that she thought that Halloween was the Devil's birthday.
When we went over what causes rainbows, (refraction of sunlight at certain angles and all,) she raised her hand and said that it was God's gift to Noah to prove that God would kill us by fire next time.
And that, supersport, is why you are going to get laughed at in class. Because we just went over the scientific, testable, provable cause, and then you bring up the impossible one from your religion and say yours is right.

So, basically you're pissed off because you flunked out of high school and can't get a decent job? Don't pull that "I was too busy questioning the system" bullshit when the simple fact is that you're an idiot and a failure. Sure, I was opposed to the way a lot of things were run in high school and I certainly got in my own fair share of trouble. But, I was also smart enough to acknowledge that if I fucked up too much and failed my classes, I would have no hope of "escaping" the system in the future. So although I remained pissed off at the bullshit I experienced in high school, I passed all my classes, went to a good college and graduated. And now I'm free to do what I want, and to pursue the life I want. Not being given a job because you aren't qualified for it isn't persecution, it's common sense. Quit your bitching and go study for your spelling test, dumbshit.

Seriously I know some "dissenters" (I'm still in school) some are actually intelligent and propose honest criticism of the way the subjects are taught (these people I know are good friends of mine who still manage to pass most classes with ease), some are lazy and use dissention as an excuse to skip school or avoid work (gangstas!) and others like supersport are total morons who can't grasp the idea that they might be wrong about something so they cry conspiracy/bias/bullshit/etc.
Those who question the orthodoxy of the system become politicians or lobbyists (no qualifications needed) so they can change the system.

Oh baloney. Parents have their children every morning, every evening, every weekend, and all summer long to impart whatever indoctrination they please. If you think their schools "withhold information" that their parents think they should have, the adults have plenty of time to fill their minds with nonsense. Meanwhile, the educators will explain to them the stuff that YOU fail to teach them, and I suspect that's largely because you never learned it in the first place.
