Even if he did pray (and I certainly wouldn't fault him for it in such a situation), that doesn't mean it worked. He has a -LOT- of flying time under his belt and he's certified in several different kinds of flying. I think it would be incredibly much better proof of god if you sent -me- up flying a plane and then have that happen, since I haven't even flown as a passenger since I was younger than 5 and prefer not to even drive larger vehicles since the majority of my driving time I've been in tiny cars.
I suppose on the plus side there are people who realize what a big deal it was, even if they ascribe the outcome to the wrong cause. The 'no big deal' people were starting to bug me (to them I say imagine doing a belly flop at high speed and you're the size of a plane).
So where was God during all the OTHER plane crashes in the last, oh, ten or twenty years? I'm sure those pilots were praying, too, but maybe this guy prayed "right"?
Fucker...
Good to see that you treat pilots the same way you do doctors--when a highly trained, skilled professional with years of experience saves lives, it was actually a case of Goddidit. Why don't you learn how to fly an airplane, fly it to cruising altitude, and then turn off the engines and take your hands off the controls. See what happens when you leave things to God.
I never realized that the people on the 9/11 flights didn't pray.... Oh, wait the ones who crashed into the towers did pray and I suppose god granted their wish.
Your god has quirky ways of helping humans out.
Oh shut up with your witless babble. You don't give 2 shits about that airplane one way or another but are glad to be able to pretend to care, because it lets you talk about God.
The plane landing, was simply good luck. A miracle would be if you got a clue.
I see a lot of posts here asking about all the other plane crashes that god didnt save people from. Well, obviously God was angry with those people, so he did what any loving God would do and killed every bastard on that flight. Thats right, everyone who has ever died in a plane crash deserved it. because it was Gods will!
/sarcasm
Laws of physics =/= god
QED.
You people at RR are warts in the asshole of humanity. The pilot did a hell of a job landing that PLANE (the correct fucking spelling). You asswipes just can't give credit where credit is do. You all bend over backwards to make any scenario look like god/jeebus had a hand in it. Now if the PLANE had crashed and every one on board had died, you raptards would be fapping and claiming that god did it because god is punishing us.
How many people in the US are Whooshmeisters? Certainly, they are not willing to concede heroism and capability to a fellow human. Simply because they can not conceive of heroism and capability in themselves. They presume them to be mythical traits only to be read about in works of fiction.
Very similar, in fact, to their inability to imagine that someone doesn't believe in their God or any other religion's God. Hence, their general incomprehension.
How, to confuse a Whooshmeister, just say your an atheist, and he'll be thinking about what your religious rites could possibly be.
Love ya, Pule.
Lots of people pray in disasters, such as emergency water landings. Not all of them make it. This is the first time *ever* that everyone did make it out of an emergency water landing, praying or not. Seems to me that Captain Sullenberger deserves some credit.
Maybe it was Thor, and now he is VERY pissed at you for attributing his miracle to a false god!
I would stay indoors if the weather calls for lightening storms if I were you.
"im sure he was praying to GOD"
When black boxes are recovered, the authorities rarely release the last comments.
Wonder why?
Who would I prefer in the cockpit, the guy who doesn't panic and is able to glide a plane in for a safe landing, or the idiot who throws his hands up in the air and says "Gods will be done?"
I think I'm going for the rational guy.
"who was the hero from the plain crash???"
as opposed to the... what? Extraordinary crash? Plain crash? Is there even such a thing as a crash to regular one could describe it as plain?
I'm not getting this at all.
So let me get this straight. Highly trained pilot, who trains other pilots in how to survive almost exactly the situation he ended up in, does exactly what he's trained to do, so... Goddiddit?
No. Just no. That pilot is a highly trained, skilled professional, and now a hero. Not some fabled sky-man. Pilot. Skilled professional pilot. If it was your moronic arse at the yoke, Aby, then I might suspect divine intervention or sheer dumb luck. But again. A third time just in case you didn't get it:
"Highly trained, skilled, instructor."
He trains other people to survive aircraft incidents, never-mind himself. Give credit where credit is due.
Confused?
