[In a thread explaining LaVeyan Satanism]
What value is any knowledge of Satanism to a believing christian?
Such things can only serve as a stumbing block to our faith.
I suggest we all memorize 100 verses of the Bible instead.

Man, Satanism is just a tiny sect that arose AS A RESPONSE TO ALL THE FUNDISM IN THE PLANET. Please, leave them alone, mind your business and don´t mingle.
Two more verses for your project:
"Wisdom is a shelter as money is a shelter, but the advantage of knowledge is this: that wisdom preserves the life of its possessor. Ecc 7:12
"So I turned my mind to understand, to investigate and to search out wisdom and the scheme of things and to understand the wickedness and the madness of folly." Ecc 7:25
So you see, Mr Warbucks (anyone else want to order a tall decaf ICBM?) that even your own bible encourages you to learn and acquire knowledge. And having knowledge about your enemies is still the best way to strengthen your own position.

Absolutely nothing! Anton LaVey designed it to be exactly that way. So, I suggest you keep your nose stuck in your bible because you know nothing of LaVey's philosophy, because weak-minded pricks like you are scoffed at in his teachings. Besides, if you even opened the Satanic Bible you'd have a friggin' heart attack, because LaVey successfully contradicts every stupid thing the Holy Bible says.
David D.G. -- Absolutely. Xianity, and most every other religion I can think of, have no use for knowledge or intelligence. As far as I can remember, there is no verse in the Bible praising intelligence.
Also, I suggest that many of us already know 100 verses of the Bible.
Threatened by understanding others. *shakes head*
If there's such a large chance one would lose faith simply by understanding the adversary of their god (the 'worshippers' of that adversary) just how strong can that faith be?
That would be like saying that reading the xtian bibble would weaken my stance as an atheist/deist. Oh Contraire! I read their bibble, I talk to them and what it does is deepen my understanding with facts that religions are the pacifiers for the frightened, incurious and against intelligence.
I am a devout christian and I see Anton Lavey's book as an interesting read. It reminds us of everything that we don't want to be. I'll give him one thing. So far, he's been absolutely right. I can see why he shut out christianity or any form of religion. But let's analyze this and ask: What makes a satanist different from an athiest? What difference is there? The only thing that comes to my mind is a matter of indulgence. Satanists willfully indulge themselves, and they live a very skeptical life. Understandable; I'm skeptical and very cynical about a lot of things concerning my faith. The only way to really understand it is to study it yourself; satanists are just too lazy to try get a feel for it. You can't blame them though; they live in a world of self indulgence, worrying only about M.E.... My Enjoyment. So the real question becomes - How do I want to live? Do I want to smell (Read Anton's excerpt from Satan Speaks! about not bathing), be socially ignored and live only for myself, or would I rather have friends and enjoy some of the minor hardships, extra efforts and pains of this life? Frankly, I will never regret anything I do. I'm happy with who I am. Sure, there are egotistical assholes and anal repulsive buttmonkeys (thanks Anton for the huge vocabulary of negativity) who twist and contort religion to the point where fanatics become slaves (take the mormons and their multiple marriages or the slave trade with that sect from Utah). If you're an independent mind then I suggest you take a look at all of your options. So far, christianity makes the most sense - A comfort for peace and tranquility, a promising afterlife, and an acceptance in our life. How much more could you want?
You want to follow satanism, then I encourage that you go for what you want. See you in the afterlife. ;)

Couldn't agree more, Condom Whorefucks. Question, however: what value is any 'faith' to a rational Atheist, considering Aleister Crowley believed what he was espousing?
What value are your 'belie fs' to we Atheists? What practical purpose does such an unjustifiable concept called 'Faith' possibly serve? Such things - certainly you fundies - can only serve as a stumbling block to human progress.
I suggest you read... well, anything except the Bible instead.
Moral: Satanism. Christainity. Both sides of the same fairytale coin.

Know your enemy?
Y'all go on about Satanism, how it's so absolutely huge and influencing those who sit in the seats of high office and how Satanism is systematically destroying society through video games, hollywood and the gay,,,but,,,you wouldn't wanna understand their objectives.
So Y'all often dredge up Anton Leveys joke Satanism as if it's a real thing because it's the only group to so label themselves.
There are no Satanic organizations and if there were they are Christian based. You're the only people who believe in him.
I would encourage all Christians to read "The Satanic Bible." LaVey stole his philosophy, part and parcel, from Ayn Rand, a woman who openly hated Christianity. Nowadays more and more Christian zealots are turning to Rand's "philosophy" and insisting that it is not only compatible with Christianity, but was, in fact, the essential message that Jesus was trying to preach.
If Christian zealots were to read "The Satanic Bible" and make the inevitable connections between what it says and what Rand preached, they might realize how stupid they are being by buying into the notion that Jesus was an objectivist. Then the smug, self-assured rabble of the fundamentalist brigade might just do what has heretofore been unthinkable: admit that the loudmouths and big shots among them are wrong.
Ryan, I'm looking at you when I say that.
To most reasoning humans, knowing your enemy is a vital thing. You, on the other hand, prefer to put your fingers in your ears and shout "LALALALALA", or rather recite 100 Bible verses loudly.
I know the beginning of the Christmas Gospel by heart. I can't say that it has ever helped me fight any satanists, though. But it has helped me fight insomnia once in a while...
Confused?
