["Why on earth is it so important for some guys to have a virgin wife?"]
For purity. It would be great to have a wife that only has your genes inside of her, and not the genes of other guys that she has slept with.

Oh, oh, tqpix. This is not science fiction. Female humans are not capable of carrying around inside of them the sprm of every man they've had unprotected vaginal intercourse and then selecting which one they want to use to fertilize their eggs. I'm aware that there are sci-fi races of aliens with this as the premise, but I promise you, it's not how humans work, as you'd know if you'd ever take any biology.
OK tqpix, when guys, "pass on their genes", there's this little technicality called conception, pregnancy and birth. Approximately half of your genetic information passes onto the offspring. Mummy has a lot of work to do, but rest assured she's not clagged up by indesctructible sperm in the meantime!
I...but...idiot.
THE SONG:
If you don't know what you're talking 'bout, shut up!
If you don't know what you're talking 'bout, shut up!
If you don't know what you're talking 'bout,
And you really want to shout it out,
If you don't know what you're talking 'bout, SHUT UP!
The poster may have gotten this idea from the anti-STD slogan, "When you have sex with someone, you're also having sex with everyone that person previously had sex with." This would creep out a lot of literalists and make some of them pretty nervous about sleeping with anyone but a virgin, but I never heard of anyone thinking about it from quite this perspective before.
The notion, tqpix, was to avoid getting together with a partner who may have contracted AIDS or syphilis or other STDs, not to avoid a partner who may have been "contaminated" by the "genes" of another person. As NotMe and miri_rose pointed out, that just does not happen, at least not to humans in real life.
(@ miri_rose? You're the one who made the sci-fi connection. Is your name a Star Trek reference, by any chance?)

One of my occupations is as a breeder of Bullmastiff dogs. I have been stunned over the years by how little most people actually understand about genetics, but this is the first time I've ever heard this deep level of ignorance applied to humans. well, now that I think about it, I've heard this level of ignorance applied to human genetics before, but nothing MORE ignorant.
Wouldn't your wife contain roughly half her father's genes inside her from her birth?
Maybe this guy is confusing women with succubi, female demons capable of stealing a man's semen and vital force and, according to some legends, transforming themselves into incubi. Incubi are the male counterpart demon which uses that seed to impregnate women. This was all just an elaborate smokescreen to cover up hanky-panky during the middle ages but religious society makes people both repressed and gullible so it was brilliant at the time.
And does she have any right to claim his genes only, not to be seen like an object?, besides, genes are not points or pimples, are you afraid of having caught genes?
You don't know that your wife, if you have one, isn't swallowing gallons of other mens' semen. Before you married she might have guzzled rivers of sperm and left her hymen intact. You never know, specially with fundies.
Women are biologically driven to sleep with many men. Aw! Didums. Don't cry about it now. Oh! Go on then. Have a little fantasy if it makes you feel better.

Wait, do you think the genes just kind of hang there and linger inside of the woman until they somehow turn into a baby or something? That's not how sex works! >_<
The only time the "genes of [an]other guy" will ever stay inside of a woman is if one of his sperm manages to meet up with one of her eggs and conceive a child. And that certainly doesn't happen every time a woman has sex.
“For purity.”
Which is pretty much what virgin means. Not an ansswer to the question.
“It would be great to have a wife that only has your genes inside of her, and not the genes of other guys that she has slept with.”
But why? What’s the risk or harm or problem if she’s slept with other men? I mean, assuming she’s showered…
Confused?
