I just found it sad that in my local Walmart, the vampire/occult/witchcraft books were right next to the Christian books and Bibles. Worst, yet, when you come in from the front of the store, (the entrances), the occult books are BEFORE the Bibles which are on the end of the aisle. I am also at a loss for words at some Christians who think it is okay to watch these evil vampire movies and even let their kids watch Harry Potter and such.I know wordly people don't see the wrongness in movies and books, they are still spirtually blind. Open your eyes people! Watch what goes into your eargates and eyegates. If you don't think its wrong to watch this junk and condone it, you need to pray for a spirit of discernment.

Dragons, unicorns, gods, magic powers, supernatural happenings - the bible right? Easy mistake!
Also eargates and eyegates?
EARGATES AND EYEGATES
MAN WHAT
Oh, rest assured, I'm very careful about what gets through my "eyegates"(wtf). Like when I read the Bible. So much wrongness... It's true, I just can't condone that kind of garbage.
So, in other words, if you disagree with princesstiki and think there's nothing wrong with various fictional books, you're wrong. Find some way to prove it to yourself.
I am also at a loss for words at some Christians who think it is okay to watch these evil vampire movies and even let their kids watch Harry Potter and such.
Because these people understand the difference between reality and fantasy.
This quote offends my sensitive eyegates.
Also, why don't people like this just go to a christian bookstore?
Oh wait, they might carry books intended for (Gasp!) Catholics!
Ocult?
Oh, you mean FANTASY.
Lots of gods, spirits, magic, etc...
"Belgarion" comes before "The Bible", but "Harry Potter" is a few letters AFTER it.
Also "eargates"?
"eyegates"?
WTF????
If you don't think its wrong to watch this junk and condone it, you need to pray for a spirit of discernment.
Or I could pull the stick out of my ass. Yes, that sounds like a much better plan.
...these evil vampire movies and...Harry Potter...
Yet that "Passion of the Christ" snuff film is A-OK for all ages, from eight to eighty. Yeah, right. [/sarcasm]
The moment I read the word "occult", I knew it meant Harry Potter. Sigh....
People who don't see "wrongness" in Harry Potter, vampire movies, etc., aren't "spititually blind" to some great truth that only you and other fundies can see; they're people who have IQs greater than their shoe sizes and enough education and common sense to discern fact from fiction.
in my local Walmart, the vampire/occult/witchcraft books were right next to the Christian books and Bibles.
They like to keep all the fantasy stuff together.
I could see complaining about this in a bookstore. It'd still be fundie nonsense, but separation would at least be FEASIBLE if someone wanted to implement it.
Walmart's book section is, on average, pitiful. There would not be room to keep Twilight away from your precious Christian books. Why don't you go to a bookstore for books, that would be showing a REAL spirit of discernment.
I think someone with a RR account should go there in a rage and suggest that they all boycott Walmart until this Satanic, unG*dly( I love fundie spelling and punctuation!) material is removed, but if they did, they'd all starve to death! Wait! Yeah...I forgot there's no downside!
I know wordly people don't see the wrongness in movies and books, they are still spirtually blind. Open your eyes people!
Being worldly tends to imply that your eyes are already open. If you're still freaking out over Harry Potter supposedly teaching real magical spells and having connections to Satan, well...your eyes are still closed.
Yeah, we all know your ilk has trouble distinguishing reality from fiction.
Watch what goes into your eargates and eyegates.
That's fundamentalism in a nutshell. Honestly, I don't know how you people can live such incurious lives. I'd be bored to death if all I ever heard and saw was things I already believed.
I just found it sad that in my local wally world, the baseball bats are right next to the tennis raquets. Worst ( think she meant worse) yet, when you come from the front of the store (thank gawd she said "the entrances", I would have never guessed) the baseball equipment is before raquet sports, which are on the end of the aisle. I am also at a loss for words (apparently...no you are not)at some athletes who think it is ok to play these team sports games, and even let their kids play baseball and such.
Ok. that is enough. This twit isn't worth coming up with more. Grow up princesstiki.
"Watch what goes into your eargates and eyegates."
ooh, so Harry Potter books are like Weeping Angels?
into the thread and they start whinging how Xian bookshops don;t censor out the Xian books they disapprove of.
One whiner is employed in one and sometimes feels like crying because she has to sell such "devil-inspired" literature. No-one suggests that if she feels so strongly she should walk out, no: it's all "pray for the owners to discern rightly"
I'm sorry, but they make me sick.
What other people read is THEIR business, not yours.
And frankly, Wal-Mart's "occult books" are all fiction stories. If you want the how-to's, you have to go to an actual bookstore , like Barnes&Noble, Books-A-Million, Borders, or your local metaphysical shop.
...You know what, I think Tiki's problem is that her only source of reading material is Wal-Mart. I wouldn't read the sort of "books" they have there if you paid me.
"I just found it sad that in my local Walmart, the vampire/occult/witchcraft books were right next to the Christian books and Bibles."
You must have wandered into the fiction section.
"you need to pray for a spirit of discernment."
No, you need to read the little signs on the bookshelves that say "fiction" or "romance" or "cookbook" etc.
"I just found it sad that in my local Walmart, the vampire/occult/witchcraft books were right next to the Christian books and Bibles."
Whenever I go to London, one place I always go to is Charing Cross Road, with all the bookshops there; the big chains such as Borden's and Waterstone's, as well as the many independent fine & antiquarian bookshops. Yet, in all the times I've been there, I've yet to see a branch of Wal-Mart's books.
I wonder why...?
Damn you, Sisyphus. You stole my line.
"Watch what goes into your eargates and eyegates."
This made me lose control of my watergates.
So basically if you aren't able to discern fantasy from reality, avoid non-fiction books?
That's what I'm getting here.
It's yet more proof if proof were needed. Satan, the Lord of this Earthly Realm is using his almost limitless powers to make the Store Manager of a particular American Walmart stock Books on magic about 3 feet closer to the front door than Princess's favorite magic book the Bible.
Such are the depths of Satans might!
Wait, WTF are eargates and eyegates?
And I knew after reading the first sentence that this was from RR. They seem to be the worst at getting all worked up over any what they consider "occult" books being sold anywhere. But I don't know what they always complain about, since they don't read any books other than the bible, and they often don't even read that.
Their real gripe isn't that the other books are placed next to their precious bible, it's that anyone is selling the other books in the first place. No, it's not about them being forced to read books they disapprove of (since nobody's doing that), it's all about trying to force everyone else to only read books they approve of. Which is one of the main reasons I hate fundamentalist Christianity.
"I just found it sad that in my local Walmart, the vampire/occult/witchcraft books were right next to the Christian books and Bibles."
That's how fiction is usually categorised. Your problem (apart from your obvious mental illness)?
I had no idea of the importance of store set-up in regards to its orientation to the front entrance! Generally the 'end of the aisle' could be the front depending on what side you entered from. Yeah, it's not the main issue here, but I find one small idiotic comment like that makes every other statement even less credible. Princesstiki should learn to be be more aware and watch what goes into her nosegates too, so she can better smell all the BS that comes out of crap like this.
Jack Bauer said:
"I wonder if Princess Tiki realises that her peegate can also be used as a fuckgate."
I hope these are euphemisms for something other than what first comes to mind; otherwise, you need some remedial sex education stat before you hurt somebody!
I think Thomas Paine had the right idea concerning the contents of the Bible, given this quote, & I suspect perhaps Wal-mart had the same idea, with regards, categorising the Bible with "Occult Books" on their shelves...
"Whenever we read the obscene stories, the voluptuous debaucheries, the cruel & torturous executions, the unrelenting vindictiveness for which more than half the Bible is filled, it would be more consistent that we call it the word of a Demon, than the word of God. It is a history of wickedness that has served to corrupt & brutalise Mankind..." - Thomas Paine
Occult books and religious books are somewhat related, and ought to be next to each other.
In my bookcase the Bible and the Koran stand next to the Iliad and the Odyssey. Speaking of Evil; On the shelf above them stands "The Diary of Anne Frank", a victim of Christian Fundamentalism.
For the umpteenth time; Harry Potter is a Christian allegory, written by a Christian, about the fight between good and evil. Harry Potter is Jesus and Voldemort is Satan. If you don't like Harry, then you must root for Satan.
What kind of a stupid name is princesstiki? A princess is a character mostly found books and movies. Who's the spiritual blind, here?
RI wins.
Hey "SpaceProg Renegade Time Lord":
You do realise that Dr Who is a science fantasy, written by an atheist (up til this year it was written by a ZOMG GAY ATHEIST!), with demons and vampires in it, right? Suppose you'd better turn your favourite show off.
Unless...
of course...
you can find some bullshit excuse for watching it...?
The Wicca books and the Christian books are probably right next to each other because they are both in the RELIGION SECTION. This is like going into the "Political" section of the bookstore and whining that omg! there are liberal books right next to the conservative books!! I am SHOCKED and OUTRAGED!!!
"the occult books are BEFORE the Bibles which are on the end of the aisle"
And this is just fucking petty. You guys, I looked in the dictionary the other day and saw that Christianity came BEFORE Wicca! Clearly this means the authors are biased against me and my religion. ;~;
Confused?
So were we! You can find all of this, and more, on Fundies Say the Darndest Things!
