(Replying to:I was reading around online tonight and I read that Jews don't believe in hell...Is this true???)
Traditionally, Judaism taught eternal punishment for the unrighteous (Daniel 12:2). However, modern Judaism teaches a lot of doctrinal error, a lot of extra biblical nonsense to uphold tradition and some sects teach the Kabbalah (which is basically a form of witchcraft), not surprising as it is a false religion since it has rejected it's Messiah. The religion goes to great lengths to interpret out passages in the OT that traditionally were regarded as Messianic prophecies to separate itself from Christianity and avoid acknowledging Jesus as Messiah.

Extra, extra. Irony burns through internet. No survivors.
In response to David D.G.
c'mon everyone knows the result of Pirates vs. Ninjas, a new breed of NINJA PIRATES!
Er, the "sects" that teach Kabbalah you're referring to, are they by any chance Madonna?
Because last I checked, in non-celebrity judaism Kabbalah was still something you had to study torah the torah for for forty years first to engage in.
Also, Kabbalah predates the belief that Jesus was the messiah.
THIS BOARD IS UNDER CHRISTIAN OCCUPATION. I AND MY BROTHERS HAVE GIVEN THIS POST A 1 AND WILL CONTINUE TO GIVE ALL NEW POSTS A RATING OF '1' IN ORDER TO DRIVE THE RATINGS DOWN. WE WILL DO THIS MULTIPLE TIMES EACH DAY, FROM MULTIPLE COMPUTERS AND WORKSTATIONS, IN ORDER TO COUNTERBALANCE THE ATHEIST BIAS OF THIS WEBSITE.
HAVE A NICE DAY,

The religion goes to great lengths to interpret out passages in the OT that traditionally were regarded as Messianic prophecies to separate itself from Christianity and avoid acknowledging Jesus as Messiah.
Great lengths? What great lengths? The only great lengths I've noticed were in the NT, where they invented a whole early history of Jesus around what they thought were prophesies. Where does the OT say the messiah would be "a Nazarene"? Where does it say his mother would be a virgin? The prophesies say he would be of the house of David. But the NT has two completely different genealogies, which looks like they were just pulled out of somebody's butt.
@MessianicServant: Do you know XenoNinja? You two are perfect for each other.
Maybe you could "occupy" XenoNinja if you know what I mean.
If you can put up with XenoNinja's "Ewwwww's" all the time.
I think you two need to get married in California. We would all support you here, as we don't care who sleeps with who.
A messiah only means he was anointed (which only means rubbed with oil).
Every jewish king was a messiah.
Jesus was not from the line of david on his father's side.
In addition the messiah must be a regular man, not god.
Prophecy can only be made when all the jews are in israel. Phophecy ended with the diaspora.
Jesus didn't fulfill the prophecies of the messiah in the old testament.
He did not build the third temple.
He did not call the jews to zion.
He didn't form a world of peace.
Ergo: Jesus is not the messiah.
As a Jewish humanist who has been to a Yeshiva, allow me to be the first to admit, that this is complete, absolute...
bullshit.
Complete propaganda from the mouths of Christian antisemites who presume that they know the context of stuff that didnt originate from them!
Darth Vader, might you mean, Maimonides? or Yehuda Halevi? They're the only two spanish middle ages Rabbis I can think of right now. Yehuda Halevi might be likely, since he was also a philospher.
And that's quite possible, I'm just wuoting from my fourth grade Hebrew school teacher, which is probably not the best source, because either her or my memory could have been mistaken. I apologize for not researching more thoroughly before I posted.
On the other hand, I'm pretty sure that (unqualified) Kabbalah is still looked down upon in most of the jewish community..
@ Sheik yer Bouti, Judaism is passed down maternally, so he would have to be from David on his mother's side. not saying that I agree that he was the Messiah.
Depends how you define Hell, and how well you have oiled the wheels on the goalposts.
Quoting Daniel as the truth and the Kabbalah as witchcraft is like saying Genesis is the truth and Revelation is a lie.
Rapture Ready is but a cult obsessed with doomsday and make sanctimonious outpouring on subjects they know fuck all about.
lol. Rapture ready accuses the jews of believing in "extra-biblical nonsense".
How pricelessly ironic is that, considering that the rapture is entirely "extra-biblical nonsense".
However, modern Judaism teaches a lot of doctrinal error, a lot of extra biblical nonsense to uphold tradition
The...irony, it...burrrrnnns! ARRRRRGH!
And traditionally, Judaism was a marginal religion whose people lived under fear of being slaughtered by not very friendly neighbours(when they didn't slaughter them off too, of course). Hey, if you wanna live in a dessert with the technology of the Bronze Age(which I doubt, judging the fact that you're typing it in a computer), ok, but understand that people think otherwise. They were the ones who wrote those stupid laws. If they've left them, it may mean something.
@scubajesus,
That is not the point. Mary was Jewish too.
Isaiah 9 says that the messiah's ancestor would be King David (and remember, every king was a messiah) who was of course, also a messiah or an 'anointed one'.
Kingship was patrilineal.
Since Joseph is not the father of Jesus, and Mary was not of the Davidic line, Jesus could not be the messiah.
So to be technical, any and all of the Jesus cults are extrabiblical.
"..The Kabbalah (which is basically a form of witchcraft)..."
According to Fundies, so is Wicca, Transcendental Meditaion, Yoga, Satanism, Druidism, and Freemasonry.
John 15:18-23 "If the world hates you, realize that it hated me first. If you belonged to the world, the world would love its own; but because you do not belong to the world, and I have chosen you out of the world, the world hates you... And they will do all these things to you on account of my name, because they do not know the one who sent me...Whoever hates me also hates my Father."
First of all i am a reform jew. Basicly you are calling me a heritic because dont follow YOUR concept of ..judiasm... what a load of hubristic arogance you have going on there!
Judiasm has changed evolved and improved since the time of jesus. If i were a mean man i could blast you for being a heritic because you are not a cathloc (if you are a cathloc not a protistant)...
But really your religon is none of my buisness, nor is mine any of your buisness. BUTT OUT!
Confused?
So were we! You can find all of this, and more, on Fundies Say the Darndest Things!
