This is true. There was light before the sun, moon and stars existed.

As for the light from stars which are millions or billions of light-years away, I don't know how God did it, but then I do not know how he can count the hairs on everyone's head (though, looking at my head, that task is getting easier (IMG:style_emoticons/default/detective2.gif) (IMG:style_emoticons/default/dry.gif) ). My limited imagination can only imagine that he created the light in place.

Resisting the obvious joke here, this is just Omphalos Redux.

If a galaxy is 2 billion LYA, and God created all the light travelling in-between at the same time he created the galaxy itself, then the light 1 billion LYA would show an image of the galaxy as it would have been 1 billion years before it is at the moment of its creation, the light 1 million LYA would be the same galaxy as it would have looked 1.999 billion years before, the light 1000 LYA would look like the galaxy 1.999999 billion years ago, and so on.

Basically, God (as Randy imagines him) would have written a massive great fiction into the sky for every star and galaxy we can see there.

But if God tells lies, nothing in the bible can be counted upon!
