[On Muslims]
JACIE: Every time I see them in our stores with only their lying eyes peeking out I want to go up to them and say " get the hell out of my country" , but my husband won't let me . He says they'll put me in jail. I wonder can I really go to jail for speaking my mind??????????
Cooky642: My husband has the same fears for me: you're not alone! I have no doubt whatever that either of us could/would be arrested, convicted and imprisoned for such an action. My way of handling that is to take a basket load of stuff I intended to buy at a store and deliver it to the manager, and tell him in a normal (not quiet) voice that I do not do business with Muslims or Muslim supporters, and he'd better hustle to get the merchandise back on the shelves because I'm not buying any of it! And, I will tell all my friends and relatives (I don't have that many, but he doesn't need to know that) why I'm boycotting his store, and that I won't be back until his 'staff' is Muslim-free! So, I go back 6 months or a year later, and guess what? Not a hijab in sight!

Jacie: unless you were being loud and obnoxious with your bigoted screed and could be charged with disturbing the peace, then no. Your husband is wrong, you can't be arrested for just being a bigoted twunt. Now, you could, and should, be banned from the store.
Cooky: things that never happened, an internet tough girl. If I were a store manager and you pulled a stunt like that, I would tell you in a normal voice to leave my store and to not return, that I don't do business with ignorant, bigoted loons.
No you can't go to jail for speaking your mind but what if just what if THIS IS THEIR COUNTRY. What if they were born in America and proud to be American.
Really that is what pisses me off. I hate Muslim terrorists but I think that the worst thing we can do is discriminate against American Muslims, treat them horrible and drive them into the hands of terrorists. We need to stand with proud American Muslims not push them away.
You can't go to jail for expressing an opinion. Even a moronic and viscious one.
The store manager may well have given into pressure from assholes like you. In that case, he should get sued to insolvency and beyond, and you deserve a lifetime of suffering for your ignorance and malice. But the law cannot punish you simply because you are a horrible person.
If I thought you were going to read this, I would ask what the effect on international relations would be if we kicked out all the Muslims living peacefully among us, so that every Muslim on Earth saw us as their enemy in a zero-sum game. It sounds like a dream come true for Osama Bin Laden.
"I wonder can I really go to jail for speaking my mind??????????"
No you can't. At least not in the US. But, the store may tell you they don't want your business.
"I'm sorry, Mr. Manager, but I can't buy any of your wares because I'm the kind of bigoted asshole who automatically thinks that anyone with dark skin is out to cause my family harm."
That's what you should say next time the situation comes up. Honesty is always the best policy.
"And, I will tell all my friends and relatives (I don't have that many)"
Why am I not surprised at this statement?

@Wyzard
Yep, and then she'd cry about persecution because the store owner is discriminating against whites/Americans/Christians..
You can never win with the willfully ignorant.
You can't go to jail for being a bigot, but if I controlled the government, I'd forbid you from having children and/or being a teacher/day care provider/etc, so your hate can't spread.
...all my friends and relatives (I don't have that many...
Hahahaha, made my day!
Boycotting a store you might go to every 6 to 12 months or so.
You and your one friend. What an impact that will have.
~~You can't hide your lying eyes,
And your hijjab is a thin disguise...
~~
No but if you're ittitating enough you'll be asked to leave.
If you want to boycott a store because they do not discriminate that's fine. No one will make you go there.
But what if the person who you did not want to work there still does? What if it was their day off or they were on vacation? If they found another job you'll have to avoid that place too
... can I really go to jail for speaking my mind?????????? [/]
No, you go right ahead and speak your mind. It certainly won't take long.
Jacie: No, you can't. When discriminatory laws are violated, the perpetrator is commonly punished with a fine, so the law wouldn't punish you more severely for airing your bigoted opinions in a shop. The worst you'll probably get is a security guard telling you to shut up or you'll be kicked out.
It's a little wonder that other right wing loons think they have weight when morons like these invent stories where their opinions are taken seriously and are acted upon. Cooky: I seriously doubt any manager would take the unproven threats of one deranged individual as gospel, especially when he or she can see that he gets custom from the Islamic community. I'm sure that the manager is more bothered about stats showing profits and the number of customers that shop regularly at the store over the boycott promised by one individual.
I wonder can I really go to jail for speaking my mind??????????
Depends what;s on your mind but yes, in some cases, you can. Really, this is just an Islamaphobic tirade.
Nobody's going to throw you in jail, but you're likely to get thrown out of that store.
And you think a manager would break the law and risk a lawsuit because one racist idiot who only shops there once or twice a year threatens a boycott? Yeah, that will work.
I kno it's been said before, but it's kind of important that such things are so common:
This is basically Nazi rhetoric about Jews, except with Muslims replacing Jews.
Confused?
