Nickelodeon use to make ME feel uncomfortable when I was a teen and my younger siblings would watch. Never really put my finger on it, but changed the channel whenever I saw it on.
My own kids don't even know Nick exists LOL. For that matter, Cartoon Network makes the same flags go up in my gut. I listen.
If we have cartoons on, either it's from the huge dvd collection or Boomerang. Boomerang shows old Pink Panther, Yogi Bear, Huckleberry Hound, Grape Ape, Hong Kong Phooey, etcetera. Sure they are not politically correct for today, but then neither is my family. I'd rather have that naughty pink panther smoking his cigarette on the screen than SpongeBob walking into the romantic sunset holding hands with another male character.........which is exactly what got SpongeBob banned from our house 6 years ago.

Better not show them Looney Tunes, either, what with Bugs's cross-dressing, Pepe LePeu's unwanted advances towards the ladies, and all those explosive Acme products. You'd probably think Wile E. Coyote was a Muslim.
Yeah, Bugs Bunny never kissed Elmer Fudd at all and Tweety's sex is totally discernible.
He's a poe though, just look at his name.
Yes, you'll want to get those kids started on your ancient cartoons. Because God knows, if it wasn't appropriate 60 years ago, it never will be.
I hope they enjoy the racist stereotyping of Speedy Gonzalez, or the criminal sexual harassment played for laughs in Pepe LePew.
Do you remember that Hong Kong Phooey episode where the main character was charmed by an old lady's sweet siren-like animal calls, and then he jumped into her arms and kissed her?
I was traumatized for weeks after seeing that episode....
lung cancer > unnecessarily homosexual portrayal of friendship.
I think sheltering kids is really bad for them in the end.
They end up socially retarded, other children will perceive them as stupid, and they are really annoying.
Uh oh! A skipping Pink Panther? Male wearing pink! Gay symbol if I have ever seen one! Yogi Bear? Pedophiliac bear, with a little boy bear he keeps in his cave!
Fred Flinstone! aka Twinkletoes, would rather hang out with his friend Barney, and he wears a DRESS!
lulz! These people are really paranoid about a potentially gay Spongebob. It's not only very telling, that they are way to ready to jump to such conclusions, but that they are all too willing to condemn an entire television due to their own bizarre and bigotted interpretation as well! It's really fantastic...
Pink Panther? He wore pink, and there was no Mrs Panther was there?
Yogi Bear lived alone with a little bear named booboo. Gay pedophilia
Huckleberry hound? If he wasn't gay I don't know what was.
I don't remember Grape Ape or Hong King Phooey.
SpongeBob held hands with a friend? That makes him Gay?
Well look at your God fearing president....

You just know this boast is going to get really, really funny when the kids get older and she has to stop them discovering the existence of more stuff she doesn't like. I see boarded up windows and a smashed television in the future of this family.
I remember an old Droopy cartoon that came on at 3 or so one morning a long time ago before [AS].
It was a western themed cartoon. It had cowpoke Droopy amblin' into a town with the ominous name of "Bloody Gulch" or some such thing. First thing we see is a sign bearing the population. Gun fire rings out. The population number drops by about a dozen.
Droopy walks into a bar. Buncha cowhands are slugging down shots at the rate of about one a second. Some dude walks in and guns 'em all down. Their ghosts get up and keep at the shots.
Later we a see a mutton-chopped bartender, arms crossed and looking stern, standing in front of a mural of a clearly naked woman; he's blocking the naughty parts (of course later, it's revealed that there's nothing to that anyway. It was actually two separate pictures).
That's about all I remember.
It comes as no surprise to me that a fundie would find a cartoon like that, or any number of things like say, racist caricature Speedy Gonzalez (and Slowpoke Rodriguez), appropriate, but not Spongebob.
I wish Ren and Stimpy was still on. Heads would be asplodin' coast to coast. You would hear that shit happening all night long.

Ingesting toxins is always preferable to finding meaningful companionship.

The Great Grape Ape was a cartoon show that ran on Saturday mornings in the late 1970s, alongside a new made-for-Saturday-morning-TV Tom and Jerry series. It featured a 40 foot tall talking purple ape who ended every sentence with "Grape ape, grape ape!", and towns full of people who would run away screaming "Yaaaah! A goril-il-il-il-illa!" every time they saw him.
Funny thing is, he always hung out with this anthropomorphic dog named Beagly Beagly. A MALE anthropomorphic dog. It was a BLATANT endorsement of the homosexuality that's rampant in the "furries" community, and should be shunned by all good Christians everywhere!
You wouldn't watch a gay on Nick but you'll watch a pink "male" cat smoke a ciggerette, or a "male" rabbit dress in drag.
Good logic you have there.
Yeah, that's nice and not messed up... And watch their kid end up gay even without the evil lovey-dovey influence of SpongeBob.
I really wish there was a kid's cartoon character that was legitimately gay. It'd be big F-U! in the face of all these bigots who abhor the idea of people of the same sex loving each other.
There is, of course, nothing more dangerous to a child than Nick at Nite and Cartoon Network.
Fiction is dangerous. It can give a child an imagination and your god knows we don't want that.
People sometimes really baffle me.
I always wonder why people waste their time to worry about sexual preferences of cartoon charactes. What's with this?
Oh! Hi there, TinkyWinky! :)
I'm starting to wonder whether or not we might actually have found the first ever Rapture Ready poe.
They do seem to have picked particularly... questionable examples of 'non-gay' cartoons.
Any other site I'd have dismissed this as a troll already, but up until now nothing has been too batshit insane for RR... tricky one.
Boomerang cartoons are great, but you're still a homophobic twat.
I'd love to say this is a Poe, but I just can't be certain any more.
In the news today; the sun came up on time, and some piece of shit christian decided to take all of the fun out of her child's life. And now the weather....
Afraid of Nickelodeon. How the hell does she even get out of bed in the morning? The power of christ?
The depiction of smoking, which kills millions of people with lung cancer and other diseases, is okay, while the depiction of homosexuality, which harms NOBODY, isn't?
You're fucked in the head, funmudder.
So you and your kids watch nothing but Boomerang, and you've banned Spongebob from your house?
... Strangely to say, I'm totally okay with this.
Especially since Nickelodeon and Cartoon Network are falling down the suck train. Okay, Adventure Time kicks ass, but that's about it.
Confused?
So were we! You can find all of this, and more, on Fundies Say the Darndest Things!
