If a woman who is not pledged to be married is raped the rapist must marry her according to the bible.
If a woman who is pledged to be married is raped while in the country (i.e. outside the city) the rapist must be killed and the woman must not be punished but if she is raped in a city (or town) then both of them should be killed because the assumption is that she could have screamed but did not.

Yep, that's one of a thousand reasons why I think your belief is for the birds.
Actually, that's not really fair to the birds, is it?
What if she's gagged? Or unconscious? Or is frozen in terror, or he tells her that he'll kill her if she makes a sound, or she's mute, or she does scream but no one hears her?
GET YOUR RELIGION AWAY FROM MY LAWS AND MY BODY, MOTHERFUCKER.
Fed Up: <<In all fairness, he's not actually saying that this is a good thing. He's just quoting the Bible. >>
John: << I don't know if this is fundie or not. He's just quoting, not editorializing on it, so we don't know whether he's pro or con. >>

Fed Up and John: UNTIL he says, "Good basic judeo-christian law" (my emphasis). THEN he's editorializing and endorsing it.
However, I will agree with James that it is equally possible to read that as pure sarcasm. Without further context or a winking smiley or something, it's impossible to be sure one way or the other -- but the straightforward interpretation is fundie, without a doubt.

I'm not sure, that may be in violation of another law. What does the Bible say about contradictions? Do you chose the first verse, later one, or combine them?
It may be Biblical law, yes, but that doesn't mean that it is a just, fair, or effective law.
Law is a product of the society which develops it, and as society's knowledge increases, the law must be adapted to its new circumstances.
Which is why we should not apply law as it existed 5,000 years ago without first comparing it to what we know today.

Gags and/or Date rape drugs. That is all.
Yes, good Judeo-Christian!!!. Punish an innocent woman, punish a wrong-doer regarding whether he has "stained" a "property" or not and don´t take into account the wishes of one the parties. The best law possible.
Genovese Syndrom, anyone?
But yeah, I'm not able to read the context for myself, but if it is about rape in Islam, the saracasm-theory seems plausible.
This is a clear illustration of how religion can so warp someones mind to believe that is is "good...law" that the victim of rape be either a) forced to marry the man who assaulted (if she is lucky) or b) be executed.
You are a fucking douchebag. An infinity of douchebags in fact.
Confused?
