I was talking to my 6 year old the other day (dh and I have custody of our 6 year old granddaughter and 7 year old grandson) and she is just getting so excited about Jesus coming. Almost before I thought about it I said something like "It won't be long before you get to meet Aunt Nicki." You would have thought I just told her that we were moving to Disney World! She is so excited about getting to meet her Aunt Nicki! The thing is, Nicki died 6 years before my granddaughter was born! I have some pictures of Nicki on the wall and she has heard us talking about her a few times but she really has no clue who Aunt Nicki is. For her to be so excited I think that has to be The Lords influence on her!

The Lord's influence? Or simply the influence of you rambling on and on about how fantastic the Rapture is in front of her, along with babbling on about how a relative she never had a chance to meet (which I'm sure you speak fondly of, lest Jesus send snakes down your chimney) will be there?
I'm stretching towards the latter...it doesn't take much to have children regurgitate what you shove down their throats.
Um no, it's what she hears from you and that you're excited. Personally, at 6 years old, I think she'd be more excited to see Mickey Mouse at Disneyworld.
I sent a few emails to some law research sites, and a child abuse information site, because I had to question the other post about the 5 year old being "tired of life".
Even though I'm pretty sure nothing can be done about it, I had to know for my own sanity. I'll let you guys know if I get any answers.
As for this post - Yes. This is like telling the kid you are going to Disneyland.
If Disneyland were now requiring people to poke their own eyes out with a stick to get tickets, and you just left that part out of the proposal.
You leave out certain key details about what you have to do to "Meet Aunt Nicki", sure, it sounds like a pretty sweet deal.
What kind of children did you raise that you would be considered a better parent? Or are you part of the RR group that snapped with reality when your child died?
And yeah, I remember thinking that heaven was going to be like Disney world as a kid. Then I grew up and read the book. And look at me now.
Alright, here's the truth:
The parents very possibly weren't married, or were living a "sinful life", so he kidnapped the grandkids and is living in a hut in the wilderness. He's brainwashed the kids so young that they don't think to disbelieve him, and he's indoctrinated them into his suicide cult.
Okay, so now we can add "warping a child's understanding of the difference between life and death" as yet another in the long list of crimes committed by the RR crowd.
These people need:
1.) CPS intervention
2.) Lots and lots of grief counseling
3.) Deprogramming
Her being excited is you giving her bullshit about her aunt.
When she figures it all out, she'll beat the shit of you.
These grandparents have custody and since they aren't winding the kid up to go see Mommy or Daddy in heaven, it's pretty safe to assume that the parents are alive.
So, this makes me wonder how fit these grandparents are to raise children, since their first attempt obviously went so awry that the parents have lost custody.
I always wonder about judges who give the custody of children to the very people who raised the fucked-up parents. Do they think the grandparents are going to do something different this time??
In psychology(and common sense studies), it is actually understood as the constant influence of YOU. If you repeat it all over, she will have something called CURIOSITY, specially if she's so young.
I realy think that someone needs to send the FBI an anonymous tip about a potential suicide cult using the rapture ready forums. Because seriously, if you didnt know that much about these people, it sure as hell looks like some kind of suicide cult.
Heck, the only thing that is possibly stopping some of those people from offing themselves is that they are told they will go to hell if they kill themselves.
also, @sweet violet, i entirely agree with you there. I mean, you think that the judge would do some sort of background check. though, you just know they would be all, OMG, I HAVE TEH RIGHT TO RAIZE MAI GRANCHILDRUHN IN MAI DETH CULT IF I WANT TO. TEH FUHST AMENMENT SEZ SO. (that was painful to type, but was to get across the inainity of allowing people to force their dangerous traditions onto those who would have no choice in the matter)
So, basically, you've got custody of your grandkids because...their parents were killed in a horrible wreck. Doubtful by the way you said it or.......the kids were taken away because their parents were useless morons who abused them. Great, you failed raising the kids mom and/or dad (had to get that in there) and now you're going to fail at raising the kids themselves. Someone call social services!
PS. Since she doesn't know Aunt Nicki is dead she's probably expecting a non abusive family member to show up and whisk her away.
Somebody call child services.
Just a guess here, but is the reason that you, as grandparents have custody, is that your kid is a fuck-up?
And, who raised that fuck-up again?
And the cycle continues with the next generation...
or she has no real concept of death and thinks she actually gets to meet her. Take her to her aunts tomb and explain that shes dead. show her her aunts rotting corpse. maybe her dead pets...
see if shes as excited then.
Confused?
