No amount of "I personally believe"s, "respect them as people"s, or other vacuous, insincere sugarcoating will change the fact that calling a harmless, innate characteristic 'wrong' is disrespectful to the extent it dehumanizes an entire class of people and invalidates their right to exist. And if you ain't got no shame, why are you anonymously ~confessing~ this on Whisper?
I don't believe in deities and disagree with religions. I will teach my children to respect them as people, but explain to them that their thinking is superstitious bullshit. No shame!
How does that sound to you?
You don't "become transgender". You were either born that way or you weren't. You can pretend not to be trans, and endure a lifetime of tremendous suffering which few will ever know about. And those who do know about it likely wouldn't understand. Or else commit suicide, either way. All so that people who have overly simplistic views of the way things are won't have to go through the comparatively mild discomfort of having their views challenged. Is it any wonder that those who reasonably can do so say "hell no!"
Also I note that people who are anti-same-sex-marriage also generally seem to be anti-marriage-as-an-expression-of-love conceptually, but also aren't very consistent with applying that concept to hetero marriages. Especially their own.
Attawhatta? You will respect your children while still stating they are somehow wrong for wanting to be who they are?
You don't become transgender, nitwit, any more than you become male or female, you are born that way.
Homosexuality and transgender are both inborn. No decisions to be made, other than living a life being true to themselves and saying "fuck the haters". And if you're not ashamed, put a name to your declaration. After all other people who share your opinion do without hesitation. Are you afraid?
Confused?
So were we! You can find all of this, and more, on Fundies Say the Darndest Things!
