[regarding a Baptist Church that has called a woman to be the pastor]
That church has no bussiness being called "Baptist." That's pathetic.

Sounds like a progressive church. And that's a bad thing because?
Oh right, "real churches" are cesspools of misogyny and pedophilia.
There are more than 50 separate varieties of Baptists in the U.S., according to Wikipedia. They are among the thousands of different Christian denominations in America that claim to abide by the Bible (of which there are currently 87 different English-language versions in use). Yet, each claims to have a lock on Truth. Now, that's what I call pathetic!
Some Christians consider IFB's nothing more than prejudiced sexists and racists who cherry-pick the Bible to narrow God the worst possible kind of unloving monster. They think you're pathetic.PS Mary Magdalene was the first preacher of the Gospel, read your damn Bible, fake Christian woman hating sock-puppet.
Well, that's good. How about they get called Methodist? Or Mainstream Baptist ('Mainstream Baptist' is actually a denomination, which apparently split off from the Southern Baptists because they thought the SBs were getting too Fundie, ha!)
Why are you even talking, girl? shouldn't you be giving birth in the kitchen and making toast? Who said you could talk?
/sarcasm
Hey, if you're gonna claim women are inferior, start acting like it first. you're sounding pretty loud and opinionated for someone like yourself. Ah, the wonders of hypocrisy...
Your NAME, girl!
Your name.
Idiot. The whole point of Baptist churches is that they can do whatever they want and spew whatever brand of bullshit they choose (Westboro, for instance). That way, it's not like the Roman Catholic church, where beliefs are controlled and standardized by one small group. Because IFBaptistGirl fails to realize the history of her own church, she has no business being called "Baptist." That's pathetic.
At least, in this post [I refuse to visit its associated thread], she doesn't claim exclusive rights to the Christian(TM) handle.
Jimmy Carter broke from his Baptist congregation because they relegated the womenfolk to servitude. Point for Carter, whatever you may think of him otherwise....
No, you are pathetic, because you believe that your own gender is incapable of being anything more than brainwashed, ignorant, obedient baby machines.
Only the most extreme Muslims refuse to accept women being imams.
Isn't she the one who doesn't want to high five or touch any blokes until she marries?
IFBabptistGirl + Hijab = Fanatical Islam
Remind me again what precisely seperates her ilk from bin Laden?
Yeah, there are quite a few decent progressive Baptist churches, such as this one . Unfortunately, they are a bit few in number.
Also, wasn't IFBaptistGirl proven to be a poe?
What I don't understand is why a woman would want to be a pastor. There are plenty of other prestigeous positions that a woman can occupy in a church organization: Pastor's wife, Sunday school teacher for children, organize the bake sale, keep the church clean, make dishes for the Sunday pinics, help with the building fund....
We have plenty of lovely girls at my church that are delighted to have the opportunity to help out around the church. They never would want to be in charge. Not just because it's unbiblical and you risk Hellfire, but because being in charge is against the delicate nature of these precious flowers. Honestly, you have to treat women like children most of the time. That's how the LORD wants it.
Confused?
So were we! You can find all of this, and more, on Fundies Say the Darndest Things!
