Why, because the Christian boy being a Christian would hopefully be urging me to save the girl, and also because the boy and I would be setting an example of what a christian is. The boy knows the truth, but maybe the girl hasn't had the opportunity to know the truth or see the Truth in action."

A pastor got trapped in his church by a flood. A guy came by in a rowboat and said "hop in - I'll take you to higher ground." The pastor said "no, that's OK - God will take care of me". The water kept rising and now the pastor was on the roof. A guy came by in a motorboat and said "hop in - I'll take you to higher ground." The pastor said "no, that's OK - God will take care of me". The water rose some more and now he's treading water. A guy came by in a helicopter and said "grab the rope - I'll take you to higher ground." The pastor said "no, that's OK - God will take care of me".

So he drowned. He went up to God and said "how could you let me drown after I showed such faith in you?" God said "Hey - I sent two boats and a helicopter. What more did you want?"

There is no right answer to this question. Within the bounds of the question, there is no way of differentiating; if you can save only one child of arbitrary gender and abrahamic religion, it doesn't matter which.

Blessed Fruit of Thy womb, Jesus, you fail utterly at bounded hypothetical thinking, and the only basis for your morality seems to be to maximise the propagation of a bunch of fairy tales clung to by your particular religion. It's hard to establish what kind of person you really are, as your personality seems to have been entirely overridden by your cult's indoctrination.

momoftwo, you don't seem so bad, although your answer suggests you may possibly be the kind of lunatic who places more importance on potential human beings than actual ones, the kind who might bomb an abortion clinic. I'd suggest further observation and analysis of your thought processes in order to verify this.

It's not the fundiest thing I've seen on here. As far as which one I would save, it would be the one that would put my life at the least risk.

I'd try to save both. Now to deal with the idiots...

Idiot 1. You'd save the girl because she hasn't accepted Christ? Yet you'd let the boy die because he has? Suddenly I have the urge to convince my friends to not be Christians. Also you assume too much of the boy. You can bet your ass he'll be begging for you to save him.

Idiot 2. You'd only save her because she's a girl? In other words, you want some of that? By the way, a guy is needed to reproduce too, so I don't buy the "she can reproduce" mouth shit. You're a man and your name won't blind me to that.

Idiot 3. Jesus and/or god sent you to save them. You refuse, saying that Jesus will save them. Both die.
