Faith is the sure belief in something that is proven.
Like the wind. You cant see it but you have constant proof that it is there and you know what it can do.
Whereas Atheists are like those who try to come up with a theory as to why things get blown over instead of accepting that there is a wind.

Stop equivocating, dammit!
Definition:
Faith, n:
1. Confident belief in the truth, value, or trustworthiness of a person, idea, or thing.
This is the definition you seem to be going with. It is faith in an extant thing. The faith is not in whether it is existent or not, but whether it is accurate or reliable.
2.Belief that does not rest on logical proof or material evidence. See synonyms at belief, trust.
This is the faith that you have, and the kind that is not needed by atheists, for the most part.
Your wind comparison fails because God does not provide us with proof of his existence that is comparable to the measurable effects of wind. Factor in that we are not only able to measure the effects of wind, but also able to detect it readily with almost every basic sense aside from sight, and we can see that the comparison is fallacious to any beyond those who already accept God's existence as "a given".
Lemme correct that for you:
Faith is the sure belief in something that is not proven or cannot be proven.
Like God. You can't see or taste God but you believe he is there, despite the lack of empirical evidence.
And theists claim God causes things to fall instead of simply accepting that gravity exists.
1) Faith is belief without evidence.
2) The wind is testable and measurable and we understand the mechanisms that cause it. There is zip, zilch, nada, NO proof for your God.
3) Atheists don't have to explain away anything until you actually offer up some proof. Got some? Didn't think so.
Blah, blah, atheists don't know what they're talking about, blah, blah, only we know "The Truth" TM blah, blah fucking blah. It's alays the same lame generalized bullshit about how all atheists are merely in denial. It's ironic (to me) that most hardcore fundies that accuse people of making the wrong choices in life are such piss poor examples of what they want everyone to be.
If you put your hand out of the window when its windy you feel it. If you walk outside when its windy you feel it. If you look at trees when its windy you see the branches move around because of the wind.
Im sure atheists (why the capital letter?) do accept theres wind, because of the above facts. You on the other hand, probably think its God coughing.

Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.--Hebrews 11:1
Faith:
1 a: allegiance to duty or a person : loyalty b (1): fidelity to one's promises (2): sincerity of intentions2 a (1): belief and trust in and loyalty to God (2): belief in the traditional doctrines of a religion b (1): firm belief in something for which there is no proof (2): complete trust 3: something that is believed especially with strong conviction; especially : a system of religious beliefs <the Protestant faith>---Merriam-Webster Online
You fundies just get dumber and dumber. Not only did you get it wrong from an etymological point of view but even your own holy book disagrees with you.
I'm so embarrassed for you.
Um, are your sure about your definition of faith? The way your wrote it, it goes against all other descriptions I've ever heard of the world.
I love how fundies define words on their own or circumvent the definitions of others.
Shoot yourself in the foot, much?
While atheists feebly try to find facts to fit their "wind theory" (which, after all is just a theory) those who have read their Bible's know that the truth lies in 'intelligent prodding'. I heard from my mother that there was a scientist working in a far away country who dug up a tree blown over hundreds of years before that had a big fingerprint from where God prodded it. Do you know why the Burmese government doesn't want outside aid in the wake of the "cyclone"? Because everything that was destroyed has the LORD'S handprints all over it! The secular one world government doesn't want anybody to know the truth so they're hushing it up until they can run a damp rag over all the wreckage!
Huh. I think "wind" is the scientific theory for why things get blown over, whereas a fundy is like someone who sees something bending as a result of meteorological conditions and screams "Hey, proof of God! God did it!" instead of accepting the existence of wind.
"Like the wind. You cant see it but you have constant proof that it is there and you know what it can do."
I can also make testable predictions about the wind, and measure it with various instruments.
The same can't be said about a certain omnipotent deity of yours.
The, ahem, "analogy", would be more apt if the theist would be attributing the effects of wind to a gawd while the atheist argues that leaves moving in the wind is not supernatural.
It was always taught to me that faith is a sure belief that comes from your heart in something that you aren't certain is a sure thing... If that makes any sense. I for one have every reason to believe that my dad is dead and gone forever, but I have faith that he's somewhere he can be happy finally. I think belief in a sure thing is just knowledge.

Please, I implore you. I am literally down on my knees in front of my keyboard. Begging you. To, once and for all, show us this 'proof'.
I would love it, to believe, that somewhere in existence there existed a single, ineffable being that actually knew what the fuck was going on!
But the plain fact is, you've got nothing but a clasped handful of wishful thinking and a warped tradition of social parasitism.
Confused?
So were we! You can find all of this, and more, on Fundies Say the Darndest Things!
