The very fact that there had to be "counter demonstration" to Westboro Church's peaceful and respectful warning is they are holding a mirror to America's face and what they see is not very pretty. Biblical truth is hard to accept.

The Westboro Baptist Church (WBC) is an Independent Baptist church and hate group known for its hatred of homosexuals.
The group is best known for its protest activities, which include picketing funerals and desecration of the American flag.
Yeah, that sounds both peaceful and respectful, it really does!
"Respectfully" telling the parents of a person who is currently being buried, that he deserved death because he was a fagot, that is really classy!

If you decide to bomb a church, and the police found out about it and counter your action, does that mean that you are right to bomb the church? That is basically your logic...
A counter-demonstration just means that people think you say stupid things, and they want to disagree with you, in public.
I just love those signs: "We love everyone" and "God hates signs".
I agree with dryfruit, Biblical truth is hard to accept, unless, that is, you are a literal-minded moron who needs a source of stupidity like the Bible to guide you. Or, unless you are a drooling incompetent who slavishly obeys any authority that latches onto you early enough. Or, unless you are a bigot who sees a convenient means of justifying your abhorrent behaviour. Or, perhaps, you are just someone who is mentally ill, and the Bible is just the sort of thing to feed your fire.
The Westboro Batshit Circus' single purpose is to tell the world that the monster under the old fart's bed is full of hate. Sounds like a cry for help to me, but the old fart is too macho to admit he has issues. Thus, he forces his inbred clan to cry for help on his behalf.
You and I have a very different meaning for the word "respectful". The Westboro Baptist retards are not respectful of anything or anyone except their own twisted interpretation of the Bible.
As to "Biblical Truth", it doesn't exist since that book is nothing but superstition, contradiction, and fabrication.

"When Fred dies I hope the entire country goes to his funeral."
Oh, how the rest of his subhuman 'family' are going to get theirs when that day happens. Righteous vengeance indeed. Non-violent, but just sufficient to demonstrate to them the infinite hate there is for them & the WBC.
Indeed, they'd better cremate that evil slimebag when he's put out of our misery and no longer infecting the world with his inferior presence, if they know what's good for them. Because if they just bury him, there'll be a queue of people miles long, waiting to dance, spit, piss and shit on his grave.
And when that (long awaited and joyous) day comes, I may very well be persuaded to dust off my passport and book a plane ticket...
Yes, but then surely the very fact that you had to protest their protest proves that their protest has merit.
But of course, now I've protested at your protest of their protest I've dumbly just validated your protest haven't I?
Thankfully protesting my own protest of your protest of their protest has made my protest of your protest of their protest right, so I'm still okay!
See how that doesn't work?
I can't feel anything other than utter contempt for the phelps fucks. In any issue relating to them or even mentioning them, fuck all human decency, compassion, and laws. They can all go throw themselves into a wood chipper.
I am dead serious that if these people ever once tried this shit at the funeral of anyone I even know, let alone a relation, I would kill every last one of them. Prison is arguably worth it.
Next time you try defending them keep in mind that I'm one of literal millions who would act that way.
I'm honestly surprised they haven't all been killed yet.
...Westboro Church's peaceful and respectful warning...
Publicly mocking other people's misery to get attention is neither peaceful nor respectful.
...they are holding a mirror to America's face and what they see is not very pretty.
What they're doing isn't pretty, but it's hardly a reflection of America.
Biblical truth is hard to accept.
It sure is, isn't it?
Does anyone understand the point of the WBC protests? Their message is hate, their goal is to offend, and they are telling everyone that they are already doomed, hence making any point to repent pointless.....
Biblical truth is hard to accept.
What biblical "truth" is that? That a fallen soldier, possibly a Bible-believing evangelical Christian himself, should have his funeral picketed because he happened to live in a country that refuses to make homosexuality illegal?
Fuck you. I don't know which protest you're reffering to, but the last counter-protest to WBC I went to was at the freaking HOLOCAUST MUSEUM, where they claimed that Jews are evil, Jews killed Jesus, and that JEWS ARE THE REAL NAZIS. I'm not making that up. They literally said that exact sentence. "Jews are the real Nazis." Outside the Holocaust Museum.
That's not peaceful or respectful. And neither is "God hates fags" or "Thank god for dead soldiers" or any of the other hateful bullshit they say. Please fuck off and go learn how to be a decent fucking human being.
The one thing I do agree with is that yes, Biblical "truth" sure is hard to swallow. (Because it's bullshit is what I am saying)
"Peaceful and respectful warning"?
They picket the funerals of soldiers... soldiers fighting for America... who are generally more likely to be Christian/Republican than the general population...
Not only are they preaching to the proverbial (admittedly less extremist) choir, but they're making the grieving mothers of the choir cry.
To me, that just seems like douchebaggery for the sake of douchebaggery.
To say that the WBC Guys and Girls are "peaceful and respectful" is like saying that King Herodes was the Patron Saint of the Bethlehem pre-schoolers.

I too thought about a quick vacation over the Atlantic to pick this bastard's funeral when he finally kicks the bucket. "My holidays? Well, I went to Topeka and..."
The WBC twist the scriptures to their liking, and if you heard of Fred Phelps sermons, they hardly ever mention Jesus Christ and His good works.
I do believe that, although perfectly within their 1st Amendment Rights, the counter protests do more harm than good because reacting to the unrepentant attention whores protesting would only give them the attention they crave. From that, that will only encourage them to do more obnoxious protesting to get more attention.
I hope your kids die, you get blown up by an IED, and that you all burn in hell.
But remember, I say it with peace and respect.
Because spouting hate to the dead is so respectful.
I will have to admit, though, that while I want to feel nothing but anger towards them, I can't help but to feel sad for that family, simply because they are brainwashed into accepting the hatred, pounded into them when they were children. I just wish there was a way to take away some of the children from them now, simply so they won't grow up being so hateful, and so that that family's hatred can die off with the older generation.
Peaceful? Well I suppose that depends on your definition of peaceful.
Respectful? They. Picket. Funerals. They take a day that people take to respect someone who has passed, a day with NO political agenda, and turn it to a circus. To use "WBC" and "respectful" in the same sentence is laughable.
Peaceful and respectful? Uh huh. Sure. And Darth Vader wears pink and lavender.
Hey, when Fred Phelps dies, someone be sure to bring an outhouse to place over his grave. I'll bring the bratwurst and a barbecue to the party.
The very fact that there had to be "counter demonstration" to Westboro Church's peaceful and respectful warning is they are holding a mirror to America's face and what they see is not very pretty. Biblical truth is hard to accept.
A neo-nazi might argue exactly the same way:
"The very fact that there had to be counter demonstrations to the White Aryan's peaceful and respectful warnings is they are holding a mirror to America's face and what they see is not very pretty. The truth of the superiority of the white race is hard to accept."
@ Sasha
I predict that when Phelps dies, there will be a 3-day celebration across the USA. All very peaceful and respectful, of course.
Will there be beads tossed around, live music and dancing in the streets, women taking their tops off, and like that?
>> Biblical truth is hard to accept. <<
Biblical and truth in the same sentence is hard to accept.

Methinks some people can't wait for that subhuman waste of DNA to put himself out of everyone's misery. In a peaceful way, of course, and being as respectful as the WBC equally deserve:

As dryfruit would probably say 'The Bible. It is written', thus what the above says is truth. It is written.
Fred Phelps (a.k.a. 'Fag Felch') is the ultimate closet case, after all.
Shirley Phelps-Roper (a.k.a. 'Surely Felch-Raper') and the rest of the Westboro Baptist Church (a.k.a. 'Westhomo Bumtist Choadch'), ol' Freddy-boy won't live forever. Your 'protesting' days are numbered, and you know it. The day of righteous revenge is at hand.
