[Re. a mosque being built near Ground Zero.]
I hope that the spirits of the dead at that site haunt that mosque from the day ground is broken for the cursed mosque. Let not a single day or night pass that islam is not punished for what they did. The people that were murdered shall be ghostly holy warriors. It shall be known as the Cursed Mosque.

Also, we can't have churches near the site of the Oklahoma City Bombing, or near any former concentration camps.
Or instead, we could all agree to avoid the sort of intolerance and myopia that led to 9/11. Wouldn't that be nice?
Alright, if that's your game.
Christianity must be punished for what it did in Centenial Olympic Park in 1996. Don't whine at me, it's YOUR logic.
@Chamale
Timothy McVeigh's motivation was political, not religious. He was radically anti-government, and even claimed to be agnostic, so drawing parallels of a church near the OKC bombing site and Ground Zero doesn't make much sense.
@Kathy30
In this case, almost every site on Earth should be haunted by the dead killed in the name of the cross.
Considering that Muslims died in the attack on the World Trade Centre, therefore do Muslim "Ghostly Holy Warriors" exist, & will they defend the "Cursed Mosque", from Christian
Oppressors...?
Oh by the way, does now this mean, for example, that the CIA headquarters in Langley, Virginia will be assailed by the victims of September 11 1973, for the actions of the CIA, in the overthrow of the democratically & freely elected Allende regime in Chile on that date..?
Bear in mind, the mosque will be two blocks from ground zero. It's not actually on ground zero. Maybe you'll be able to see the mosque from the "freedom tower" whenever the hell they get around to building that, but no rational person could possibly care.
Maybe the freepers should get together and buy the property the mosque will be built on? I'm sure the brilliant posters on that site are rich enough to afford some prime Manhattan real estate.
Or maybe the ghosts of the dead will come along and teach you a lesson about what hate and intolerance does, Scrooge style.
@Rumpshaker Slim:
They canceled the plans to build the freedom tower because they realize that the design was physically impossible to build. They're building some kind of museum there now.
This is a massive insult to the dead; a religious structure from a religion that actively and consciously calls for the destruction of others. Newsflash people Islam doesnt mean peace in arabic, it means Submission. All of Islam is accountable because they all either open support or tacitly support terrorism. If they didn't why dont we see anti-terror protests in the middle east? Not one. The few who MAYBE oppose terrorism do not do so unconditionally, its always something like "its wrong, BUT USA..blah blah blah. I hope this Mosque gets burnt to the ground. The onl reason they are building it next to ground zero is to insult the dead and to provoke others.
"Because, y'know, it was ALL of Islam that destroyed the towers"
You dont see anti-terrorist protests in the middle east do you? They were very quite 9/11. SO yeah it was ALL of them. Try reading the Koran before you pronounce Islam innocent.
The religious tensions surrounding Auschwitz first came to international attention with the construction of a Carmelite convent in a warehouse that had once been used to store the lethal Zyklon B gas. The establishment of a Catholic-based religious organization at a site that was so identified with the atrocities of Auschwitz led to protestations on
the part of Jewish groups, some of whom maintained that the convent represented the religious and spiritual appropriation of a Jewish burial ground and cemetery. After years of tense dialogue and negotiation in which the Vatican and the Polish government intervened, the convent has moved to an area further from the walls of the camp and has subsequently reopened as an information bureau as well as a religious center

Timothy McVeigh was a part of an anti-government movement known as the Christian Patriots. It had ties to the far right Christian group called the Aryan Nations, which believes that white people are the true Israelites, and that Jews and people of color are "mud people" who will be exterminated during the second coming of their blonde haired, blue eyed Messiah.
Soooo idiotic.
They're not even building a mosque, they're expanding their operations in a building that already contains a mosque to house a huge community centre, museum and centre for tolerance.
Stupid xenophobic fundies.
Just as the Murrah Federal Building in Oklahoma was destroyed by an stupid American, Twin tower was destroyed by a stupid Muslim. Don't blame all other Christians, Americans or Muslims for what those stupids did, m'kay?
@#1164785
So do Christianity, Judaism, Hinduism, Sikhism, and...well, most religions. The fact is that ancient religions are based on the us versus them mentality that permeates human nature, and instead of trying to work around it to form a healthy, all-inclusive society, they exclude others to focus on the gain of their little group.
That's all there is to it. It's just a bunch of people following ancient books designed to keep people of like mind, culture, and often race together.
Okay Kathy30, the people who committed the atrocities of 9/11 were islamic extemists. Those people were the exception, not the examples, of muslims.
Also, do you really think that everyone who died innocently that day were all Christian? I bet you the terrorists also killed muslims that day, not that you care to know right Kathy30?
@ the Timothy McVeigh discussion: Although Timothy McVeigh had associations with people tied to white supremacist groups and other right wing fringe groups, McVeigh wouldn't have been able to really join those groups himself unless he completely renounced his Catholic heritage.
Because there's no possibility that innocent Muslims were killed during the attack, too. No atheists, Jews, agnostics, or pagans, either.
> I hope that the spirits of the dead at that site haunt that mosque from the day ground is broken for the cursed mosque. [...] The people that were murdered shall be ghostly holy warriors. It shall be known as the Cursed Mosque.
So, you're not willing to give the spirits of the 9/11 victims their final rest. No, you command them to haunt people.
That's not very nice, is it? I don't think it's very nice.
Nor does the God, apparently:
"There shall not be found among you [...] a consulter with familiar spirits, or a wizard, or a necromancer. For all that do these things are an abomination unto the LORD [...]" (Deuteronomy 18:10-12)
Oh snap, God doesn't like people who pull evil curses out of their hats.
Proving, once again, that Freepers understand neither "free" nor "conservative". Although, It is helpful when they kindly include their IQ at the end of their name. Thanks, Kathy.
Saying that Islam destroyed the Twin Towers is the equivalent of saying that all Christian are as stupid as Fundies.
It was Fundie Muslims who take a hardline interpretation of the Qur'an who hijacked the planes. Just like fundie christians bombed Oklahoma city. Not much difference either way from where I'm looking.
Ugh. It's just a fucking mosque, no different to a cathedral, church, or synagogue. Get OVER it, already!
Yeah, it does bother me that few Moslems speak out against the minority of violent extremists who profess their religion.
But how often do we hear mainstream Christians protest the hate-filled fundies that give their whole religion a bad name? Not often enough!
@D Laurier.
See i actually took various classes in college on it and read it as well. I find it hard to believe you can dismiss all the Surahs that mention killing the infidel.
Funny how christianity which does not in the new testament advocate killing others for not believing, gets a bad rap, but if you say the same thing of muslims, your being a racist descriminatory person, despite the Koran having EXPLICIT passages that mention Jihad and of dealing with people not of the book. Its PC to paint christianity as evil, but not Islam, in the name of "diversity".
^^^ @ Tyler
Saul consulted the Witch of Endor in order to have her raise the ghost of Samuel (1 Samuel 28 3-25), that's about as Biblical as it gets. Interestingly Sam the Spook complains of being awoken from a 'long sleep', it seems he was neither in heaven nor in hell. That said, heaven and hell are quite a late concept. Jews of the time were still keen on the idea of divine justice involving the punishment for the sins of the father being visited on their sons in the everyday world, 'yea, until the (nth) generation'.
Man that sounds like a great plot for a horror movie!
Although I can see how it might be slightly tactless to plant the relgious center of the people who killed so many that close to the site. I can see how a person who might have lost a loved one might see it as a kind of a f__k you to the victims. Yes I know not all Muslims are fundie-Muslims, but I can see how a person might feel insulted by it.
I'd call Poe, but... it's crazy enough that someone might actually believe it. Oh, and on a factual note, Al-Queda is actually fighting a lot of Islamic groups.
Yeah, Freedom of religeon dickhead, like it says in that constitution you are sooo in love with which you no doubt think makes the US "the greatest nation on earth". That means they get to build their mosque wherever they goddam well please, and you get to STFU about it.
Or is all that patriotisim, american way of life and sacred law forming the bedrock of your perfect society getting in the way of your appaling and moronic bigotry?
Don't look at me like that, its YOUR constitution. I'm just the guy shoving it up you ass.
Christians-especially fundies-aren't supposed to mess with ghosts. They'e especially not supposed to wish that, instead of getting some well-earned rest in the afterlife or death or whatever you believe in, they're fighting some dumbass holy war that a number of them might not have believed in in the first place.
Oh no. The sin! The sin! Get thee to a nunnery. Repent! Repent!
For...the last...TIME...
Muslims =/= TERRORISTS
Just like:
Abortion =/= MURDER
And
Homosexual =/= PEDOPHILE
Learn it, Fundies. Now.
Casting curses? I'm shocked!
Well, not really. It is the nature of the fundy to turn to an alternate religion (or religious practice) when one needs help and their own god has left them with their ass hanging in the breeze. Of course, there will be lots of denial later, then it's right back to the tarot reader, palm reader or psychic.
By the way, Kathy30, were you aware that casting a curse without being able to reverse it is sloppy and irresponsible witchcraft?
Karma's a bitch, baby.
"I hope that the spirits of the dead at that site haunt that mosque from the day ground is broken for the cursed mosque"
As a 'God-fearing' Conservative you no doubt are Kathy30, I hope you realise how close your words are to heresy. 'Spirits of the dead' are Satanic in nature, are they not? You lot would certainly regard mediums 'communing with the spirits of the dead' as a Satanic act, and a sin.
@Shann
"Casting curses? I'm shocked!"
"By the way, Kathy30, were you aware that casting a curse without being able to reverse it is sloppy and irresponsible witchcraft?"
Exodus 22:18. Just sayin'.
(*starts gathering wood & a stake *)
Yes, it was a minority of radical fundamentalists, but guys can't honestly pretend that Islam (the ideology, you know) was directly responsible for the actions of that minority.
I guess no churches near Okhlahoma City Bombing sites, or former concentration camps, or Jerusalem, or Istanbul/Constantinople, or most of this fucking country as a whole(Don't forget about what you did to the Native Americans, you cunt.) . Wait, there are a lot of churches near places that were not only inhabited by Native Americans, but sacred to them! I guess we'd better dismantle 90% of all churches in the states, because obviously all of Christianity is responsible for everything that happened to the natives!
What? You say you wouldn't like that? Hmm, well that seems a bit hypocritical, don't you think? Didn't Jesus say something about hypocrisy? Then again Jesus was a dirty camel-jockey so who cares what he thinks amirite?
I hope that the spirits of the dead at that site haunt that mosque
Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't necromancy a sin in Christianity? Gosh, I guess it's the lake of fire for you, Kathy.
I hope that the spirits of the dead at that site haunt that mosque from the day ground is broken for the cursed mosque.
You know, (if, of course, it were possible) that would kind of be a punishment for the spirits of the dead, too.
Confused?
So were we! You can find all of this, and more, on Fundies Say the Darndest Things!
