And once again, those countries have a near gun ban policy. Those aren't the values that the US was founded on. The founders intended people to be armed so they can defend themselves against a tyrannical government. It wasn't made for duck hunting, it wasn't made target practice or collection, it wasn't even intended for home defense necessarily although these are very useful too. It was to deter tyranny. Being a tyrant is hard enough if the people hate you. But if they also have realistic means to oppose you well then you're kinda screwed because policing them becomes impossible. How are you for example going to arrest a dissident journalist if he lives in an apartment complex and him and all his neighbors are likely to have assault rifles? You think you can just send 2 or 3 regular cops to pick him up? Good luck with that. Even a SWAT team would have trouble breaching a place like that, better training doesn't help you if you're insanely outnumbered and just leveling the building entirely might not be the best option either.
Tell me something, why are Kurds arming themselves against ISIS then? If guns don't help to remove tyrants? According to leftist logic, it doesn't make any difference LOL, they should fight with sticks and stones. RIGHT? Same outcome? Right?? Oh wait...
Maybe Germany is a really bad example btw because they actually HAD tyranny AND exported it to its neighbors for a brief time, it is not hypothetical "may happen in the next 500 years" type of scenario, it was within the lifetime of many people who aren't dead yet, not just the Nazi regime but communist East Germany as well. And the way Merkel is going on about it and the fact that the EU treats its citizens like special needs children with so many aspects of the EU being in hands of UNELECTED bureaucrats (+ the elected parliament being kinda impotent since they can't even propose legislation), well, who knows wtf is going to happen in 50 years.
Also Europe in general wasn't particularly free at around the same time the US was a young nation. This idea that democracy and human rights last forever is very naive.
Furthermore, the context is completely different. US culture is not the same as German or Swedish culture, guns are major part of US culture complete with its own black market and millions willing to start another civil war if anyone would actually try to nullify the 2nd amendment.
Your solutions just don't work and there's no reason to believe that taking guns away from people removes the criminal intent. The US does have higher murder rates than Europe but it's a cultural problem, not a gun one. US murder rate are still very low compared to world average and most of the world doesn't view gun ownership as a right. There is so much shit around that can be turned into a weapon I'm not even going to detail it for fear of giving unstable or ideologically driven people who may be reading any more bright ideas than they already have.
Like take for example a highly unstable person like Elliot Rodger. A gun confiscation wouldn't have saved his knife victims, wouldn't have saved the people he ran over with his car but it might have made him change his plans into something even worse. No reason to believe those deaths and injuries would have been prevented.

Unfortunately those "reasonable conditions" haven't been shown to work unless you just confiscate all the guns from anyone but police or government and then still the most dedicated loons find a way (or turn something else into a weapon or do many more horrible things that I'm not going to detail)

Everyone who's a responsible law abiding person yeah, I thought you guys were in favor of equal rights.
I agree that a politician has more risks to his life and he already has more protection. They get bodyguards, no problem with that it comes with the job. But he shouldn't have more rights than the average peasant.
And even that risk is just compared to the average. I don't think you can honestly say the White House is less safe than some parts of Detroit.
