I didn't know where else to put it, so I thought I would put it here. The other night I was watching a moveie about creation vs. evolution. I learned a lot of stuff. Creation says eating the right foods can fight diseases and Evolution says taking medicines will. it might not have been worded exactly like that, but it was close.

no it wasn't ... you should engage your brain sometimes.
btw, science too says that eating the right kind of food can fight/help prevent diseases, it will even tell you that eating other kinds of food will get you killed.
conclusion:
science is obviously superior to your middle eastern cavemen stories
The reason for that is that science evolved methodicaly over time, and your retarded myths just get more distorted in translation over the same time.
"Creation says eating the right foods can fight diseases"
Sure, unless you're my grade-school friend Leah, who was allergic to everything under the sun.
Oh, but that was just those pesky demons, wasn't it? I'm sure if Leah and her family had just prayed a little more, all of her food allergies would have just magically vanished, right?
Riiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiight.
Evolution and medicine are different branches of science.
And there are several dietary programs with an evolutionary standpoint.
If it was worded exactly that way, the program was bullshit.
So smiley, when you get a dose of the clap, or cancer, go to your pastor and see what foods he advises to cure you. You stupid person!
"Creation says eating the right foods can fight diseases"
What? Last time I checked a "Creation" was something that was created, or the act of creating things. What on Earth are you trying to say?
[...it might not have been worded exactly like that, but it was close.]
Either the movie was WAY off base, or you weren't paying very close attention.
"The other night I was watching a moveie about creation vs. evolution. I learned a lot of stuff."
Buying propaganda and bullshit made up on the spot isn't what's known as "learning."
"Creation says eating the right foods can fight diseases and Evolution says taking medicines will. it might not have been worded exactly like that, but it was close."
Wouldn't have been Hovind, would it? He's known for telling people to eat peach pits which contain cyanogenetic glycosides (usually renamed Vitamin B17 by nuts such as Hovind). Your body will break down the cyanogenetic glycosides into cyanide which is sure to cure your ails.
I didn't know where else to put it, so I thought I would put it here.
Ha, that's what SHE said.
Badda BING!
"I didn't know where else to put it, so I thought I would put it here."
I can't. It's too easy.
"it might not have been worded exactly like that, but it was close."
Close, as in fundies 'closely' follow the teachings of Jesus?
T4C, a bastion of misinformation all tightly control by Bro. Randy.
I shudder think I might 1 day meet these people.
Creationism says God's will is always done and if he wants you to be sick, he has a damned good reason for it.
Evolution says do what the doctors and health people recommend, as their findings are made of evidence.
Of course our friend Beth never managed to wrap her brain around the idea that eating the right foods can help PREVENT diseases and taking medicines helps CURE diseases. I think that probably brings in too many shades of grey, fundies prefer a simpler answer, like God = GOOOOOOD, Evolution = BAAAADD.
right, like you can't eat shrimp, lobster, clams, pig, etc. because it's a sin. Whereas science takes a look at how those foods actually affect you.
Great! Finally a Fundy producing a falsifiable hypothesis. Get a fatal illness. I suggest Ebola. Eat hearty. Avoid medication. Infect all your church. Your survival will support the Creationist theory. Of course, if that theory is wrong, your death will improve the gene pool. A win-win situation!
Based on some Bible verses that suggest a diet of Grains and fruit with a small meat addition. It doesn't specify what fruits and grains or meat so some people (creationists or Bible literalists like Hovind) suggest the Bible suggests only the healthiest diet proving advanced culinary expertise. Never mind the Romans had a long history of dietary solutions to gastric or physical ailments.
The argument being that the Bible had knowledge not known elsewhere at the time when in fact many cultures had been agricultural for thousands of years before and had developed well rounded and balanced diets. The marketplace and traderoutes brought more varied foodstuffs into the Empires thousands of years before the Bible suggested a varied diet.
This advancement of agriculture and marketplaces could be rightly called the evolution of society, a proccess that also brought shared knowledge and skills to more lands
I think I've seen this video he speaks of.
It was arguing that since some foods have different uses, effects they can bring about via ingestion, that's proof that they were created especially for us and didn't evolve for their own survival.
I remember some details citing the Chinese and other cultures who viewed that there were natural cures for everything. It was a while ago though, I don't remember with any clarity
~
Just to put some clarity in this poorly constructed post by Smileyto.
"but it was close"
In parsecs.
"Creation says..."
"Evolution says..."
Citation seriously fucking needed. Book, chapter, and verse where "evolution says" any such thing.
Confused?
