Secularism’s worldliness will only tolerate Christianity so long as its carnal tranquility is not disturbed or its authority challenged. But let the Christian bring his biblical values to the political arena, and he is immediately denounced as narrow-minded, out of step, behind the times, and a religious bigot.
Christians have become proficient at imitating the gentle Jesus and turning the other cheek. Unless we find the indignant Jesus-for the infringement of liberty by godless secularists-we may lose our freedom, for virtue and righteousness are key components of sustainable freedom.

Yeah, going around telling people how to live their lives, or else be righteously sent to hell or outright killed, based on the authority of a Bronze -age myth, IS a little behind the times.
"Christians have become proficient at imitating the gentle Jesus and turning the other cheek."
No, you really haven't. Not even close.
EDIT: I notice people like this seem to have a severe adversity to being called a bigot, even as they continue being one. Do they not know what that word means?

Actually if all of you did that the problems most people have with you would go away. And because this is from Barb Wire, I'll just assume you have turned the other anything ever, and if the second coming of Christ came to you on the street and preached to you his message you would call him a filthy hippie and maybe even punch him.

Probably because any Christian who has brought his biblical values to the political arena has been narrow-minded, out of step, behind the times, and a religious bigot. Not to mention that religion doesn't belong in the political arena anyway.
Christians have become proficient at imitating the gentle Jesus and turning the other cheek.
Since when? Is this something that just started today?
The other ass cheek, you mean, you narrow-minded, out of step, behind the times, religious bigot.
"Biblical values" ARE narrow-minded, out of step, behind the times, and a form of religious bigotry. They have no place in the political arena or, for that matter, modern society.

"Leave us the fuck alone and we'll do you the same courtesy" is a bad thing?

That's because by every conceivable definition he is.

If by that you mean promising to go home, get their weapon, come back and kill everyone. Because that's what Jesus did, you know.

The only way you're going to lose it is if you keep trying to force it on everyone. Eventually you really WILL compel people to clamp down on you and it will be nobody's fault but your own.
Biblical values don't belong in the political arena, period. Unless you want to live in a theocracy, and even you loonies would shit your pants if that ever happened.
P.S. What the fuck is "carnal tranquility?"
If you're going to try and force others to abide by Christian doctrine, then you are the one limiting others' freedom and liberties. Opposing this is not persecution against Christianity, unless you believe it's opposite day.
in a way this man does encapsulate the christain's problem: their religion doesn't allow them to just practice it, it requires them to proselytise, preach and judge everyone else.
So in a perverted sort of way they are being limited (aka "persecuted") when they can't impose their beliefs

Not necessaraly, there are many denominations for which this is not correct.
And even where it not, it is possible to do a lot of those things without being annoying, or worse, a dick.
Confused?
