Colorado’s become probably the worst state in the union right now and I happen to be broadcasting from the state of Colorado. The front page of the Denver Post yesterday morning gave us a picture of our leaders that is the House Majority Leader in Colorado who is celebrating and dancing on the gravestone of the old Christian order of the last 2,000 years because they have won and God is dead as far as they are concerned. We have the House Majority Leader, and by the way 10 percent of the House and Senate in Colorado are homosexuals, and Dave they are performing a homosexual act on the front page of the Denver Post, meaning that the Denver government as far as I’m concerned is probably the most immoral government, flagrantly thwarting the government of God in Heaven, and they are doing it far worse than anybody in Communist China government has ever done, probably worse than the North Korean government as well.

No one has actually voted for the governance of a God in heaven, by which I take it you mean Bible God. Why would anyone vote for a genocidal maniac anyway?
I suspect the God in heaven you're on about is a God that lets powerful, wealthy, influential people ride roughshod over everyone else. He's kind of like the God of money.
Cue insane dribbling and spittle flecking ...
"...House Majority Leader in Colorado who is celebrating and dancing on the gravestone of the old Christian order...."
Yep, that sure looks like dancing on gravestones tom me [/sarcasm]

For a group of people who claim to follow a religion of love, they sure have a fetish for hating people who show love.
the Denver government (is) probably worse than the North Korean government as well.
So the democraatically elected Denver government allowing gays to hold public office is worse than the North Korean dictatorship starving its people until they are reduced to cannibalism. Doubtless Swanson accuses atheists of moral relativism too.
Before I read this (or when I'd just read "Colorado's the worst state") I thought:
10 points if its about homosexuality
5 points if its about evil atheists being allowed to exist
3 points if its about Obama's socialist agenda
2 points for abortion
1 point for something else.
Looks like you get a full 10 Kevin Swanson.
Incidentally, is anyone else just bewildered by how much these right wing Christians talk about homosexuality. I mean, yes they're followers of crazy doctrines and want to control everyone else according to those doctrines, but there are so many other topic they could talk about (heterosexual "immorality", working on the sabbath, rock music, or even, God forbid, helping the poor). Why the focus on gays? This is not rhetorical, I'm actually looking for an answer. Does anybody know?
So, Kevin Swanson, putting Christians in jail, sending their families down mines as slave labor and starving them to death is better than the House Majority Leader kissing his partner? Next time you talk about the persecution of Christians, I'll remember just how sincere you are about their welfare.
"...and they are doing it far worse than anybody in Communist China government has ever done, probably worse than the North Korean government as well."
Yeah, because two men kissing is worse than starving your people or jailing people for being intellectuals.
They're evil, I tell you, evil! Look at that desk! They've clearly adopted a goat! Gays are not supposed to adopt goats! Next they'll want to adopt sheep or pigs or even three toed sloths! God made Adam and Eve, not Nanny and Billy!
"Why the focus on gays? This is not rhetorical, I'm actually looking for an answer. Does anybody know?"
Because they are textbook cases of reaction formation. No one thinks this intensely and morbidly about other peoples' sex lives unless they are unsatisfied with their own. It used to annoy and puzzle me, now I just pity them.
Actually, a lot of objective measures suggest that Mississippi is the worst state in the union.
But at least they hate gays there, right Kevin?
I'm with MrsYoungie. "Was that all?" was my reaction to that picture.
About 10 percent of the public is homosexual; if the government is to be representative of the public, 10 percent of the government ought to be homosexual too.
Two adults kissing is worse than a government killing, starving, maiming, jailing its citizens for wanting civil rights? You have a VERY skewered view of what is really bad, ya know.
"they are performing a homosexual act on the front page of the Denver Post"
D'aww, that's a pretty cute picture. And it's a kiss, so... When two straight people kiss is it considered "performing a heterosexual act," then? Smooching is a much shorter way to put it, but okay. Also I didn't know god hated kisses so damn much. What a prude.
Gay marriage isn't even legal yet in Colorado, is it? I don't see how a homophobe could find it to be the worst state in the union when there are several where gays can, y'know, GET MARRIED. Totally thought this post was going to be about recreational marijuana when I read the first sentence, haha.
Also God forbid the US government lets people live how they want to live! It's totally better in North Korea, where people can die how the government wants them to die!
"they are performing a homosexual act on the front page of the Denver Post"
I'm guessing they were either A) well-dressed, B) cooking C) or giving a woman a make-over. Because I very much doubt the Denver Post is a porn mag.
EDIT: Or of course they were kissing. I'm going straight for the dirty stuff today...
Poor Kevin.
But he fails to say which particular homosexual act they are performing on the front page of the Denver Post. Are they feeding the hungry; clothing the naked; burying the dead?
I have the idea from what we see of Kevin Swansobn's post that he is so completely homophobic that he would happily kill gays. Does anyone know if he holds guns? Perhaps he needs to be checked out for irrational and dangerous levels of hatred that could lead to something horrific.
But then we don't have the lot of what he said. His next sentence could be how he really regards gays as brothers and sisters - or not! and wasn't the supposed crime of deicide reserved for the Jews? And didn't they Jews suffer (death) for this for nigh on 1800 years? If I were gay in Denver, I would fear Kevin's christianity.
LATER
I hadn't seen the picture when I wrote the above. Do you know it reminded me that in the culture where I live - in Europe - men kiss their close male friends, albeit on the cheeks. Hell I do it too. I have lived here too long not to have undergone some acculturation. But it is a chaste thing, and so is that picture! Men kissing each other was also part of Jesus's culture, and he would have done so too, Kevin, pet! It is even mentioned that Judas kissed Jesus. If it were not a perfectly natural thing to do, Judas could not have used it for his signal. My final word, Kevin, is that you can kiss me too - my arse!
" as far as im concerned this is probably the most immoral government"
Why? Because they don't abide by your imaginary rules that you constantly work your brain so hard until it turns to dust to believe that all your godly rules are in the constitution.
@Xotan:
Also, Paul said many times that Christians should always greet each other with a kiss.
Romans 16:16
1 Corinthians 16:20
2 Corinthians 13:12
1 Thessalonians 5:26
1 Peter 5:14
Ironically, but perhaps not surprisingly, the guys in the Denver Post photo are behaving more like Christians should that Kevin.
they are performing a homosexual act on the front page of the Denver Post,
Kissing is a homosexual act?
OMG - and I've heard that they sometimes eat sushi, too! Personally, I can't think of anything more disgusting - I'd rather watch a chain of gay guys corn-holing each other than eat Japanese food. Why the hell isn't the Colorado legislature outlawing this stomach-turning practice? Not only that, but some of this sushi has shrimp in it ... clearly a biblical abomination!
Kevin believes in small, limited government, except "the government of God in Heaven", which he believes should be unlimited and as large as possible.
He's a republican on earth and a monarchist in heaven.
@Jacobin Socialist: I think it's partly because they may be insecure in their own sexuality, and partly because they think that recognition of other partnerships and identities will erode the power of the traditional patriarch.
@Jacobin Socialist, Why the focus on gays?
I can think of three reasons. (1) The person throwing a hissy fit is gay and in denial, and handles it by obsessing about other gays. (2) Sex to a fundy is a gross and dirty thing that pollutes their pure souls, so only good straight sex can be allowed and all other sex is a filthy perversion direct from Hell. (3) Gay rights are making progress and full equality is around the corner, so everybody panic.
the Denver government as far as I’m concerned is probably the most immoral government, flagrantly thwarting the government of God in Heaven, and they are doing it far worse than anybody in Communist China government has ever done, probably worse than the North Korean government as well.
... Where would I even BEGIN to say how stupid this statement is? Seriously, it doesn't need my help in pointing out how absurdly dumb it is, but I suppose I can try.
Colorado is allowing gay people to hold government office. Please, Kevin Swanson, tell me how that is in any way as bad as North Korea starving their people, jailing and executing them for not agreeing with the government, and constantly threatening to nuke other countries.
...
No answer? That's what I thought.
Confused?
