"DARWIN'S RACISTS - YESTERDAY, TODAY AND TOMORROW exposes the real Charles Darwin: a racist, a bigot and 1800's naturalist whose legacy is mass murder."
By today's standards, damned near everyone who lived in the 1800s was a racist and a bigot. Darwin just happened to be less so.
And what him being a naturalist has to do with anything I can't quite figure out. I can only surmise you think the term "naturalist" is someone who worships nature, or something.
"This well written book shows that Adolf Hitler, along with other genocidal mass murderers, was influenced by Darwin's half-baked Theory of Evolution."
And Japan was hit by two atomic bombs, thus we should ban physics.
What someone does with a theory is no reflection on whether or no the theory is correct or whether it should be pursued, studied or taught.
Aside from that, Hitler banned Darwin's works and was not using or influenced by them. He was both using and influenced by Christianity though.
"This book exposes Darwin's Theory of Evolution for what it is: an elitist and racist dogma that has infiltrated our every area of culture thereby undermining sense and sensibility."
I fail to see how "species adapt over time" is either elitist or racist. Nor is it dogma as dogma tends to be unfounded bullshit passed along from "on high" by whoever happens to be in charge, generally to their own benefit.
"DARWIN'S RACISTS succinctly covers, among other revealing topics, who Darwin was, his impact on the human race, evolution and naturalism, agnosticism, creation, Charles Darwin's family and friends, Darwin's sickness, the eugenics nightmare, Darwin's racists, frauds, and fakes, atrocities, crimes against humanity, cloning and genetic engineering, and the impact of Darwin's thought on our rights and freedoms today."
I see almost nothing in there that Darwin or his ideas had any impact on. What little he can be connected to would appear to be far too intellectually complex for either the author or his target audience to comprehend so I have to assume that those sections amount to "science = BAD!!"
"Thus, two conflicting and discordant worldviews are examined along with the history, theology and science that support them."
You really don't want to go using theology to try to support, well, anything.
"Also examined are the differing impacts that creation vs. evolution have had on ethnic, racial and class distinctions in our society."
Let me guess. The conclusion is that creationists are being "oppressed" or "persecuted" because they believe the "truth" and everyone else is going to hell for not listening to them. Right?
"DARWIN'S RACISTS is written by Sharon Sebastian and Raymond G. Bohlin, Ph.D. Sharon Sebastian writes for film and television."
So you have a TV/film writer and a Discovery Institute goon discussing things they almost certainly know nothing about.
Why don't you guys just admit you're writing propaganda and be done with it?
"Sharon questioned the ape to man chart at an early age and found no credible answers."
Perhaps she should have read a real science book or asked someone in the field?
"Eventually, she found answers that the book reveals and the public must know."
You mean she rehashed centuries old arguments that were neither clever nor credible when they were first trotted out and have only gotten worse since.
"Bohlin holds a doctorate in Cell and Molecular Biology, is President of Probe Ministries, a Discovery Institute Fellow, and a graduate of the University of Illinois, The University of North Texas and the University of Dallas."
That's nice. However, if he really had anything credible he'd be publishing it in peer reviewed biology journals and not some over priced waste of paper.
Why do you fundies jump all over letters after someone's name? If the guy hasn't taught in 20 years or hasn't published a scientific paper in just as many or isn't currently working in the field then all the degrees in the world don't mean very much. Not only that, if their ideas don't stand up to scrutiny of their peers in their field it means even less. That's how science works.
"DARWIN'S RACISTS is recommended reading for everyone who cares about our culture and the future of our children and grandchildren."
Yeah, sure. I'll run right out and get a copy.
