(Note: This fundie is claimed to be a 'scientist' from Answers in Genesis.)
Some things are the mysteries of God. The big bang is an evil materialist lie that the Darwinists push on us, thankfully AiG is exposing Darwinist lies!

Okay now I'm even more pissed. There is no such thing as "mysteries of God". That's just a bullshit answer fundies give when they run into a place where they just don't know what's there. This is the biggest difference between scientists and fundies, were a fundy says "It's one of God's mysteries" a scientist says "I don't know what that is, let's find out." The Big Bang is the best scientific idea we have as to how things got here. Please note I said how, not why or who. But how. Because that's all scientists are interested in, the how. But you fundies just come up with a bullshit one size fits all answer which is "God!". God isn't the answer, God isn't the question. You don't know the fucking question. I don't care who made the Universe. How did God make the Universe? Can you answer me that. No you can't. Scientists can't either. But they damn sure are a hell of a lot closer then you are.
Darwin: Old guy, dead for over 100 years, had a big beard, intelligent.
Hawkings: Alive guy, in a wheelchair, famous for his intellect and infamous for his disability.
How you could possibly confuse the ideas either one of them put forth is an epic achievement of ignorance and stupidity that can only be rivaled by other fundies.
*squeeing with laughter* Oh this is just too funny.
The only answer in genesis is how many different crappy authors could put together an unbelievable and lousy piece of fiction, and get as many people to believe it as possible.
If you don't realize the big bang and ToE are independent concepts then the only thing you have exposed is your own ignorance. Oh, and calling us Darwinists is actually a very nice complement, so thank you :)
Just shut up. When you talk about something you don't understand you prove your ignorance. Unless, of course, you enjoy looking like an idiot, then by all means, keep talking.
"The big bang is an incorrect Catholic idea that deist cosmologists push on us, thankfully the Crisis in Cosmology Conferences are pointing out the lack of observational evidence for this incorrect idea."
There. Fixed it, and made it more civil to boot.
As a recovered fundamentalist, I can say with some confidence that the mysteries of God refers to whatever is in obvious contradiction with reality. The quote I heard repeatedly was "God's ways are not our ways." This blanket dismissal was always a "clever" way to sidestep any holding of fundy thought up to the light of reason. It is said in complete sincerity but in profound ignorance. The reference to the "mysteries of God" is an all-purpose tool to avoid any intellectual accountability for true believers.
Darwin was an astrophysicist! Perhaps he was reincarnated as Edwin Hubble?
Thankfully Genesis is a collection of Babylonian novella and bed-time stories, although they omitted 10 other creation stories and the formula for beer made from dates.
Science is all about solving mysteries, Religion is all about keeping you ignorant and suppressing thought by any means. That includes lying for Yeshua Ben Miriam.
It a pretty regular practice now for creationists to argue against Darwins 150 year old book by invoking the Big Bang Theory/ Beginning of the Universe.
I can only conclude they know they can't dispute modern biological knowledge or the fossil evidence so they move the goalposts to the other side of eternity.
I hope next time I see this tactic used in a debate the proponent for evolution just insists the moderator enforces the debate stay on the subject.
Confused?
So were we! You can find all of this, and more, on Fundies Say the Darndest Things!
