Lying and "promoting the truth" are mutually exclusive.
Furthermore, WTP seems to have admitted that God is a lie. ("Lying is justified when it's [...] promoting God.")
(EDIT: Forgot to say that it shows their deity is a lie because if it existed as they describe it, they wouldn't NEED to lie (he's perfect and loves you, goddidit, etc) and they wouldn't WANT to lie (8th/9th commandment, etc).)
Saying Evolution "must be stopped at all costs" also belies the true intentions of the anti-Evolution/Creation agenda*. Religion requires Faith, which by definition requires ignorance. Widespread knowledge is sharply reducing the need for religion and so in order to maintain their control, they've ramped up their willful ignorance campaigns. As WTP has already admitted, lying is the only way to attack science and is the only way to defend religion.
* I generally dislike using the term "agenda" like this due to it's conspiracy nut vibe, but there's more than enough evidence (including WTP's own words) to support the fact that these people have a two-faced agenda.

I wouldn't be so sure of God's absolute morality if he's cool with doing whatever it takes to promote Him. You kind of make Him sound like an asshole.
