[more fundie psychological child abuse]
I agree that things can focus demons' attention to you. My family was under spiritual attack, and my parents and I prayed through the whole house .... I won't go into great detail, but afterwards, I sat my kids down and talked about praying for spiritual protection, and evil.
Well, doesn't DD11 say that she doesn't like DS7's Yugioh cards? DS7 starts crying, then stops, and says, "Yeah, let's get rid of them!" So we gather them up, rip them into little pieces, and burn them in the outside fire pit. DD said a prayer, proving she knows who to put on the full armor of God!

"DD11"
You have 11+ fucking children?
Or worse, 11+ daughters and 7+ sons?
You have over-exercised your reproductive rights and they must now be revoked. Plus you're stupid.
You know, if she *does* mean "Dear Daughter, my eleventh child" and "Dear Son, my seventh child", then it is possible that BlessedAssurance has a DS9. Cool!

It's utterly fucking amazing what the whole "religion" card can get you out of. Now, if someone did this and were, say, praying to their toaster instead of Gawd they'd have their kids taken away and probably be locked in a room with rubber wallpaper.

Great. Fundy training camp.
DD11 and DS7?
Roll 3d6+1 ...
Yu-Gi-Oh cards? Seriously? I can at least understand why you freaks get worked up about Harry Potter, Magic Cards, Dungeons and Dragons, etc. But Yu-Gi-Oh? I agree that it's a stupid game... but evil?
There was a fundie preacher in Colo. Springs who did this, but it was Pokemon, not Yu-Gi-Oh.
His 'argument' was that because children strive to become masters over their Pokemons, that they're being trained to consider themselves above Gawd.
7/14/08 -- There is reportedly a male African lion on the loose, somewhere around Colo. Springs. Here, kitty, kitty, kitty! I has some nice, juicy Christians for you!
This reminds me of a Larson cartoon where Mom's upstairs with Junior, telling him if he doesn't behave, she's going to knock three times and summons the Floating Head of Death. Meanwhile, Dad's downstairs with a helium balloon with an evil face painted on it, waiting to let it drift up to the kid's window.
So disliking an annoying card game and, as seven-year-olds tend to do, deciding to rip up the cards, is Protecting His Tender Soul from Demons?
I did the same thing when the Pokemon phase wore off. except for my first-edition Charizard. :D
@Bass X0:
I was assuming she has more than one daughter and son, so she was using their ages to identify them.
Personally, I think the whole "dear X" abbreviation thing they use over there is kinda stupid. *shrug*
Ever notice how a lot of the threads at RR, when someone with some shred of common sense respond to a thread, Sing4Him posts a four page Bible dissertation and then locks the thread? I think Sing4Him has elevated herself above Gawd by trying to be the final word in all of the threads in which sane people prove the regulars to be total dumb fucks.
And, in other news, I joined RR not long ago. It's hilarious because I'm posing as a fundie. I don't post often, but when I do it's usually in hopes of making one of the fundies feel like a dumb ass. It never works, though, and I'd be amazed if I don't get banned for my most recent fundie shaming responses (all under the guise of "loving, Christian correction", of course)
Yugioh cards: However much you spent on them
Destroying your sons hobby: Priceless.
Your daughter not liking anything your son likes isn't an excuse to destory his belongings. That's just normal sibling rivalries. You fail at parenting.
Your kids are messed up....and like to waste money! Do you know how expensive Yugioh cards are! They are like $.80 a card, and that is not including the collector's value for the rare ones! You fundies...failing to tolerate hobbies that are the slightest bit "unchristian", at the expense of their own finances and common sense. How you people survive in the gene pool is beyond me.
I'm really, really, really hoping that 11 and 7 are ages and not order number.
As far as the Yu-Gi-Oh cards, hey it's one way of torturing your little brother. And why does it always seem that fundies show open favouritism to their children, basically making certain ones out to be holy and others to be in the clutches of the devil.
Bad news. Lion not found, now believed to be possibly just a large chow dog with a bad summer furcut.
For someone to mistake a chow for a lion, it must be crossed with a St. Bernard or something.
Fraaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaack.

Burn out the evil! Purge it with flame! Incinerate the unholy!
(I can just imagine a rabid fundie running around with a flamethrower now)
I also predict that DD11 is going to find herself with a set of dollies without heads.
if you were wearing the "armour of God" then Hell, Vegas, Amsterdam or Shadizar the wicked should'nt bother you. You're scared of CARDS for fucks sakes.
Trade in your armour for a nice sweater
@And why does it always seem that fundies show open favouritism to their children, basically making certain ones out to be holy and others to be in the clutches of the devil."
@Antichrist: Because favoritism is rife in the Bible. God favored Abel over Cain, causing the first murder, God favored Noah and his family, sparing their lives during the flood, God also favored Lot and his family, allowing them to leave their city, Jacob favored Joseph, causing Joseph's brothers to sell him into slavery, and Jesus favored Peter, choosing him as the leader of his disciples. And let's not forget the biggest example of favoritism of all, God supposedly favoring the Jews above all people.
Apparently, nobody told God and the people of the Bible that one ought to love their children equally.
Um, you know, Yugioh cards sell reasonably well online these days... You could just... You know... Sell them...
Or... Not...
See, most people like to think things through before they do them. Or at least think about them AFTER things are said and done. But not our folks at RR!
So, one kid was jealous of the other kid's toys, and you convinced the younger to destroy her toys to make the older one happy?
That's not not armor you're full of.
Confused?
So were we! You can find all of this, and more, on Fundies Say the Darndest Things!
