The true purpose of the display of such things [Bible Display at Courthouses], though never mentioned, is to re-iterate the freedoms beheld by US due, in no small part, to the Christian fundamentals. If American law were derived by buddhists, we would be communist. If it were derived by muslims, we would be dictatorial and/or totalitarian. If we were established by an aetheistic society (ie Babylonia), it would be totalitarian. In following the true teaching of Christ, our government is Democratic.

Buddhists...communists? WTF? Yes all Buddhist countries are communist and all communist countries are Buddhist. Like the former USSR and Cuba, full of Buddhists.
And we all know that christian countries never have totalitarian rule. Western Europe has always been democratic, even back in the midle ages. Historians are obviously just liars out to pollute the minds of children with their propeganda to further their Illuminati agenda.
[sarcsm incase anyone didn't get it]
If you learnt a little more about those religions, you´d be not so ignorant. Buddism has NOTHING to do with Marxism(it´s the total contrary), and Pinochet or Hitler were not muslims, as far as I´m concerned. Most Christian countries have not been democratic throught history until very recently, and Babilonia was NEVER atheist.
Buddhists do not advocate governmental ideals of any kind. But in a sense, he's right, in that Buddhist monks and nuns live in communes. But so do Christian monks and nuns.
Furthermore, Jesus advocated this kind of living. 'Give all your wealth to the poor, take up your cross, and follow me'.
Most of the set up of our government are based on the ancient greeks. Weren't they like, um, pagans? Somehow I think we owe our freedoms more to philosophers like Plato and Aristotle. BTW, idiot Christian Fundamentals also brought us the Inquisition and the Feudal system of the dark ages in Europe. Christian fundamentals are just soooo enlightened...
I advocate immediate, mandatory euthanasia for anyone posting in a forum who uses "i.e" and "e.g." interchangeably
Seconded
Wow, you know jack shit about Islamic law, don't you? Muslim women had the right to vote, to initiate divorce, and to own property (rather than be property) hundreds of years before Christian women did. That a lot of so-called "Islamic" countries today are dictatorships is a failure of the people running them, not of Islam.
Think closely: how "democratic" can a government be when it's based on a religion where half the adult members of society are forbidden to speak in church?
This isn't a democracy- it's a republic. Get it right, moron. Not to mention the Roman REPUBLIC was also a republic. And they were PAGANS. =O Oh dear!
Can you tell me something, Mr. Chrashhall? How does atheism contribute to totalitarianism?
PS: atheistic, not "aetheistic"
This statement is so ridiculous that I can't even begin to ridicule it.
I can say this, though: Jesus quite clearly was a communist. He said workers on a field should be paid equally, even though some of them had worked significantly fewer hours than the rest. Now, which economic system practices this kind of payment system, hm?
Romans 13:1-7, bitch.
Also, your argument would "prove" that Eastern Orthodoxy (which, when last I checked, was part of Christianity) leads to communism.

So US freedoms are somehow a result of remembering the sabbath day to keep it holy and not making unto thee any graven image? Christians, Muslims and Jews can't even agree on what the sabbath is. Christians can't even agree with each other, for cryin' out loud! And what's a "graven image"? Actual wars have been fought between Christian sects over this issue.
If we were established by an aetheistic (sic) society (ie Babylonia), it would be totalitarian.
WTF?! Most Christian societies were totalitarian. Does this guy think King George III was elected? The US was founded by people who overthrew totalitarian rule and specifically removed religion from government. See the last sentence of Article VI and the First Amendment to the US Constitution.
Also, what is this nonsense about Babylonia being atheists? Crashhall should try going to a good art museum some time.
Yes, yes, this nation is founded on Christian principles. Which is why we can't work on Sundays, can't worship any God we choose, have to honor our parents, can't make graven images, can't lie, can't take God's name in vain, we can't covet our neighbor's goods (which is why we aren't capitalist)... Wait. Scratch that, we have none of those.
I must have missed the part where God said "These are the Ten Draft Commandments, now we'll hold a democratic referendum to see if the majority approve"
I kind of had him down as someone who just told everyone what to do and smote them if they didn't. Which would make Christian principles Totalitarian.
It states VERY CLEARLY in the Bible that governments are to be established as Christian Democracies. The Catholic "Church" ignored this for over 1500 years, but America is the first place that STARTED Christian, STILL IS Christian, and will REMAIN Christian until the Rapture.
Without Christians, we wouldn't have all those rights in the Declaration of Independence. This post is exactly right.
Confused?
