He's the type of moron who holds onto the pant leg of the men who are actually bright, strong and with character. Sorry Mr. Rocksthefellers, there are some wonderful men out there just like there are wonderful females who have helped make this world a pretty decent place to live in- You my friend exist as the sole purpose to serve as warning to others. Stay in school kiddies and don't take a dip in your own gene pool lest you wind up to be like Mr. Likesthefellers who is once more proving Idiocracy as not a fictional film, but sadly a premonition of things to come.

Tell that to the current leaders of Ireland, Finland, The Philippines, Mozambique, Germany, Liberia, Chile, India, Haiti, Argentina, Bangladesh, Gabon, Iceland, Lithuania, and Croatia, and wait for them to laugh at you. Because they're all women.

Unless by "the rest of the world" you meant more respected and sophisticated places... Like Afghanistan. Maybe you'd feel more secure in your perceived dominance over women if you went there and joined the Taliban?

If you do, don't expect our women in combat to be frail and emotionally weak when they hunt you down.

I can assure you Steve that there are lots of women in science and elsewhere in society, who are way smarter than yourself. And maybe you should, at one time or the other, try to talk to Marilyn vos Savant ;)

3. Well, misogynist religions like the christian one have a lot to do with women being regarded 2nd class humans.

4. Males having been regarded as the dominants of society for millenia doesn´t mean that society profits from them being dominant. Maybe society would have been better and more peaceful if female had been the dominant gender.
To give you a comparison to our next of kin:
Bonobos (Pan paniscus) are female dominated. They have a very peaceful society and conflicts are usually solved with sex.
They are more peaceful and sophisticated than their counterparts, the normal Chimpanzee (Pan troglodites), in which the males are the dominant gender.

No stupider, either. Nobody. . . ok, some people probably are, but rational people aren't trying to claim women are smarter than men or that as a whole they are physically stronger. That doesn't mean they can't be smart or strong. I have a whole zoo full of female keepers who are just as strong as the few men there. I'm sure a lot of female firefighters and paramedics would like a word with you. Female construction workers, female field scientists, etc, etc, etc.

That depends on how you look at it. No, women were not generally encouraged to go hunting but that didn't mean they didn't do anything at all, and that didn't mean that what they did wasn't difficult, nor did it mean they were never in positions of power or influence.

It's true that the average for intelligence is not dramatically higher among women than among men (although the highest IQ currently known is held by a woman).

However, if you made a chart of whatever measure of intelligence you wanted to use (IQ, SAT scores, etc) or whatever measure of strength you wanted to use, it wouldn't be one where all women placed behind all men, but one where men and women were both all over the chart. And even if it were universally true that no matter what, any given man was stronger than any given woman, what should that matter for jobs or rights that have nothing to do with physical strength in the first place? No, you don't want a 90-pound weakling of either sex being a fire fighter, but what bearing does that have on the political and social rights the 90-pound weakling should receive.

Men are generally stronger, but when it comes to individuals, that doesn't mean anything. I've seen plenty of men I could take in a fight, and I'm not even that strong. And women are inferior because they're no smarter than men? Do you know what "no smarter" means?

Women provide the continuity and survival of the human species. They are essential. Men, at best, are a convenience.

I not sure "genetically more complex" actually means something, but the Y chromosome is something of a genetic wasteland, as I remember hearing it described: today, the human Y chromosome itself contains only 78 working genes, compared to close to 1500 working genes on the X chromosome.

As I understand the explanation on Wikipedia, the problem is that over time, as the Y chromosome (which was originally just a slightly different X chromosome) specialized, it grew too different to be able to recombine with the X chromosome: this is a big problem, because genetic recombination allows to fix/correct/repair damaged genes.

For the X chromosome, this isn't a problem: women have two of these, so recombination happens and the chromosome is properly maintained. Not so with the Y chromosome. This means that harmful mutations on the Y chromosome are next to impossible to repair. Since the damage can't be reversed, natural selection favors men where the gene is damaged to the point that it shuts down over men with a still active dangerous gene, which means that over time the Y chromosome has been losing more and more genes.

You could compare it to a huge dilapidated old mansion with a lone, penniless elderly owner unable to properly maintain or repair it. The only thing said owner can do is to seal off the rooms that are no longer safe to enter.

Women are not frail or weak, either emotionally or physically. There are more male babies born, but there are more females who live to adulthood. Male babies are more likely to die in infancy.

Women learn early on that you can rule from the back seat, so to speak. You don't have to force people to do what you want, you can influence them to want to do it, which takes intelligence, rather than strength.

Marie Curie is one of the smartest persons to ever walk this Earth. She is one of only two persons who have gotten Nobel Prizes in two different fields.
She had a husband, who was far from stupid (he shared the first Nobel Prize with her). Well, until that day when he stepped off the pavement into traffic and was killed, that is.

My hubby needs my help to find his things all the time. He relies on me to take care of our bills each month, and he has said that I am smarter and stronger (proportionally) than him. We carried a TV set (75 kg/165 lbs) up the stairs the other day. Damn, that was heavy!
