Distributing Christian Flyers and the style of flyers themselves may be offensive, but the core of Christianity itself goes against offence. The whole purpose of Christianity to tell people not to offend each other.
On the other hand, putting up posters about atheism or distributing flyers about atheism, or the style of the flyers themselves may not be offensive, but the core premise of Atheism itself is to offend theists. (The semantic argument of whether Atheism is merely a lack of a religion is irrelevant here.)
Christianity – and any other positive religion or moral philosophy – seeks to unite; Atheism seeks to divide.

No, they just want to offend judgmental, hate-filled holier-than-thou fundamentalists who try to shove their religion down everyone else's throat.
Offensive christian posters are actually not offensive, but inoffensive atheist posters are actually offensive?
The core of christianity itself goes against basic common sense.
The whole purpose of Christianity to tell people not to offend each other.
I'm sorry, what?
To tell people that their faith -- what they've believed in for their entire lives and used as a personal crutch through tough times -- is completely wrong and will damn them to Hell is rather offensive to MANY people.
"The whole purpose of Christianity to tell people not to offend each other."
Fred Phelps would like a word with you.
"but the core premise of Atheism itself is to offend theists."
We can't help it if you're offended by our very existence. That's your problem, not ours.
"Christianity and any other positive religion or moral philosophy seeks to unite"
That's what everyone in the thousands of different Christian denominations around the world says.
"Distributing Christian Flyers and the style of flyers themselves may be offensive, but the core of Christianity itself goes against offence."
Then maybe, just maybe, your fliers aren't very Christian, and you need better ones?
"the core premise of Atheism itself is to offend theists."
No. The core premise - the only premise, as a matter of fact, is that there are no gods. If you can't handle that, or the fact that there are people who happen to think differently from you, then you need to grow up.
Most Christians we know are our siblings, friends and neighbors. But, yeah, it is great fun to offend your kind of Christian.
The whole purpose of Christianity to tell people not to offend each other.
As a gay man, I invite you to kindly pull your head out of your ass and try living in the real world for a few minutes.
WRONG. Atheism is the neutral state, actually. If no one were a theist, everyone would be an atheist, because no one would have a religion, which is what atheism is. We just offend theists for shits and giggles.
Yup, all the different fractions of Religions are truly united! Catholics are happily fraternizing with Mormons, Baptists with Lutherans, Jehovah's Witnesses with Calvinists, Jews with Protestants, Evangelists with Muslims.
It's all one big happy group-hug of unity!
And then comes the evil divider Atheism and wrecks it all with his individual, personal and (often) quiet non-belief.
Christianity and any other positive religion or moral philosophy seeks to unite
So why the 38,000 different versions of Christianity, then?
"the premise of atheism is 0ffending theists!"
"actually the core premise of atheism is what the name suggests, lack of theism..."
"i dont want to argue semantics, Hellfuel!"
How self-centered. I could just as easily claim that Christianity is offensive to me as an atheist, given that it contradicts my opinions; fortunately, I'm mature enough to realize that not everyone has to agree with me. Hate to break it to you, but people are going to disagree with you too, and you can't demand special privileges for your beliefs while disregarding the views of other people. Grow the fuck up.
but the core premise of Atheism itself is to offend theists. (The semantic argument of whether Atheism is merely a lack of a religion is irrelevant here.)
"Atheism is all about pissing off theists! But saying that that's bullshit is totally irrelevant, so you can't say it. I win by default!"
"The whole purpose of Christianity to tell people not to offend each other."
Then quit offending people! Also, I haven't really been offended by most atheists. Yes, I've run into a few of the ones that attack religion and will call people complete idiots for believing in anything like it, but most of the ones I've met tend to be along the lines of "I don't believe in it, but I'm pretty indifferent if you do."
Nice try..but that isnt going to work. Think of another lie.
Atheism is merely disbelief, nothing more, nothing less
And yet, as a theist, I've been nothing but welcome amongst atheists (especially here).
Maybe, just maybe, they're not really out to offend you. Could it be that you're just taking offense at atheism because you're a narrow-minded fundie? Could it be projection?
Hm, I think so.
Hypocrisy at its best. Or Poe.
Summary: "A true Christian should not offend." [Insert offences here]. AKA, "No offence, but..."
Confused?
So were we! You can find all of this, and more, on Fundies Say the Darndest Things!
