The Jewish religion promotes circumcision only for its own members, uh, adherents. The Christian Epistles make it clear that circumcision is unnecessary for salvation, and that it is heretical to say that it is. Congratulations shuan, you have alienated yourself from two of the worlds major religions.

Circumcision is genital mutilation, whatever the reason. It is sometimes, regretably, necessary in a medical situation. Otherwise it is barbaric.
I agree that routine genital mutilation is unnecessary and barbaric. I'm not going to have any of my kids circumcised. If you've ever seen a video of a baby having it done, it rips your heart out seeing it in so much pain. But regardless, it is stupid to have it done when not necessary for medical reasons. But I'm told that if it's kept clean it should never develop problems.

Funny thing that. I would consider a normal penis to be the one you're born with, usually with a foreskin. If god had wanted penises to have no foreskin, the fucker could've created them that way.
In Europe we don't circumsise as a rule, it seems to be very much an American thing to do it culturally (as distinct from religiously). So much so that it's never even discussed as an option - it's just a non-issue.
I've only ever seen intact men, therefore, so can't comment on comparisons, but with good hygiene they're fine - no issues whatsoever.

I however have to say that involuntary circumcision is cruel, barbaric, and evil, and when done to someone under the legal age of consent, should be punishable by law. If someone turns 18 or whatever and says "I want to be circumcised", then fine. But there is no reason whatsoever that the routine involuntary mutilation of the genitals of innocent children should be allowed.

Yeah, I've never understood the cleanliness argument. (It's definitely not a religious thing for most in America, or we'd hear about it way too often.) It can be tough to clean girl parts at times, but nobody tries to make all girls have bits removed as infants. Then again, we also have this really prudish thing going on. Better to get your boy cut than to have to teach him about his own body.

In reality, really, what is so frickin' wrong with an intact willy? I've never been with an uncut man (or an cut one, but that's beside the point), and yet going by pictures I've seen, an uncircumcised penis is not really something to be considered monstrous. Aesthetics aside, and assuming a man lives in a place where water isn't hard to come by, what's the big deal?
