James von Brunn, the man who allegedly shot and killed a guard at the Holocaust Memorial Museum in Washington, D.C., was a Darwin-lover who hated the Bible and Christians, and defies media efforts to classify him as a stereotypical "right-winger," according to reports.
The Moonbattery blog revealed von Brunn advocated the socialist policies espoused by Adolf Hitler and used Darwinian theory to support his anti-Semitism.

Hitler was a socialist in name only, he was really a facist, and a devout Catholic. von Brunn was highly motivated by his fundamentalism, that's why he targeted the holocaust museum. Aren't you guys the ones who forever branded them 'Christ killers'.
The Washington Post, which I believe is somewhat more reliable than the Moonbattery blog (whatever the heck that is), reported that the items police found at von Brunn's home included an oil painting depicting his two heroes - Hitler and Jesus.
Meanwhile, James himself disproves this. He mostly took that anti-semite shit about jews controlling everything seriously and cited the Federal Reserve Act as an example. Also, he said some shit about white man's precious bodily fluids and being a rather stereotypical white supremacist.
He doesn't sound very socialist or darwinist to me.
Books ordered to be burnt in Nazi Germany:
6. Schriften weltanschaulichen und lebenskundlichen Charakters, deren Inhalt die falsche naturwissenschaftliche Aufklärung eines primitiven Darwinismus und Monismus ist (Häckel).
Translated:
6. Writings of a philosophical and social nature whose content deals with the false scientific enlightenment of primitive Darwinism and Monism (Häckel).
Furthermore:
“Whence do we get the right to believe, that from the very beginning Man was not what he is today? Looking at Nature tells us, that in the realm of plants and animals changes and developments happen. But nowhere inside a kind shows such a development as the breadth of the jump, as Man must supposedly have made, if he has developed from an ape-like state to what he is today.” (Hitler’s Table Talk)
To me, that sounds more like the Young Earth Creationists' fantasy of a few 'kinds' of beasts on the Ark super-evolving in four thousand years into all we see today, but a "Special Creation" for humans.
I have to agree on one point. The murderer of Stephen Johns is not a stereotypical right-winger. He actually got out and killed someone rather than sitting in his basement fapping when brown people die.
The truth is that most right-wingers weren't extreme enough for him. Yet.
As for Hitler? You really have to get over the "socialist" part. You don't know what it means. And, in Mr. Darwin's case, he was a naturalist. Not a social scientist. Anyone basing political ideology on Darwin's work is doing it wrong.
National Socialism: Does not mean what you think it does.
For example: In Australia we have the "Liberal Party". Despite what most Americans would think from their definition of "liberal", this actually refers to our conservative party.
The point being that the name of a party does not always directly correspond to what it does, a party that becomes popular enough shapes the meaning of its name rather than its name shaping it.
"Social Darwinism" is a misnomer, it has nothing to do with Darwin or his Theory of Evolution. It is instead a made up political ideaology that advocates survival of only the "fittest" and the destruction (genocide) of those "less fit."
Again, please stop trying to say Darwin or Evolution have anything to do with that racist drivel, they don't.
Incidentally, that Moonbattery blog is submitted (and no I don't give a fuck if that's grammatically incorrect) further up the archive page for July, ranting about Obama and teh eeebil gayeeeeez!!!1 . I don't think it's a reputable source outside of the right-wing fantasy universe TBH.
Hitler was never socialist, not did he claim to be. He was fascist, and saw the biggest threat to fascism was socialism. Fascism was all about taking the rights from the people and giving it to an elite. Socialism at its ideal is about making ALL the people equal. Look at Spain in the 30s, the two sides fighting for power were fascists and socialists. The is a WHOLE LOT MORE wrong with this post, but saying Hitler was socialist was nails on a chalkboard for me.
And you have been delusional since when?
That von Brunn carachter seems to be a thorougly unpleasant fellow. Didn't find anything on loving anyone named Darwin. White supremacist, nazist, criminal, pedophile, that's what I did find.
Hitler was not a socialist. You forgot the first part, national socialist, which makes it right-wing, with a deliberate faux worker's angle to it.
I found a very nice quote from the son of this von Brunn: "To physically force your beliefs onto others with violence is not brave, but bullying. Doing so only serves to prove how weak those beliefs are." The fundies ought to read up on that angle on things.
lol citing Moonbattery as an authority.
Also, mega-history fail, and Godwin.
They not only start trying to paint right-wing violence as something else after an event like this, but they also, immediatly start up posts like this after such an act before ANY details are reported.
They know it's their lot just from what has occured, they know they're firing up the crazies to inflict harm and they know they must distort the facts as fast as possible.
I misread that as "was a Darwin-lover who hated the Bible and Christmas.
It amused me.
Oh, yeah, by the way, this guy knows nothing.
Confused?
So were we! You can find all of this, and more, on Fundies Say the Darndest Things!
