The KJV is the version that says Thou shalt not kill. That means that you can no longer justify wars on muslims, support on the death penalty, and all the other killing for Jesus you currently support, Randy. Stick that in your pipe and smoke it.

The first step of repentance would be the rejection of the impure modern versions.

I don't think KJ was the only one with homosexual tendencies... Randy seems to be a bit like that too, only better at supressing it.
Besides John's very cogent points about language, does Fatso not realise that the KJV was commissioned primarily to piss off fundies? It's true. One of the demands of the Puritans in the 17thC was for a new translation of the Bible; they themselves preferred the Geneva Bible, which has footnotes very scathing about kings and kingship. To forestall a possible Puritan Bible, and suppress the Geneva text, James commissioned his own translation, expressly designed to uphold the views of the established Church of England against those of Puritans and Independents. And yet, today, it is the spiritual descendants of those dissenters who cling to the KJV, whilst the CofE has abandoned it. Go figure.

I think the rationale behind this is if they started using new versions that came out as more texts were translated, then they couldn't use their famous "Science always changes, so it's wrong" argument without looking like hypocrites

One must wonder if the real reason many fundies don't like any version other than the KJV is that modern translations, given changes in language, don't include their favorite code words (*cough*strong meat). Admittedly, an awful lot of them have some pretty strange hangups about the number of apperances of "God" and "Jesus", but that could just be a post hoc rationalization.
