Holy shit, this sounds too familiar.

Y'see, in Poland in 2015, after 8 years of the centre-ish Civic Platform party ruling the country, they lost the presidential and parliamentaly elections to the socialist right Law and Justice.

What followed was dismantling the checks and balances, alienating everyone that isn't Belarus, Hungary and San Escobar (look it up), nepotism, incompetence, passing the 2017 budget in conditions that make it impossible to tell if it was legal, and a semi-successful child support program, which is the only thing those morons (arguably) did right, and bring up even at unrelated occasions.

And while doing all that, one of the most popular reactions of the pro-gov't bloc would be "BUT THE PREVIOUS GOV'T DID THE SAME!!1", even though, for all intents of purposes, they either did that on a smaller scale, or didn't do that at all. And either way, that doesn't make this shit any better.

I see the United States are going the same way. Lovely. Draining the swamp, then fill it with piss.*

* yes, I know that the whole Trump piss scandal was debunked, but that metaphor works anyway

One: That cartoon doesn't depict a realistic scenario
Two: Trump is Putins puppet
Three: No one accused rightwingers of knowing what's up. Shit like this is one of the reasons.
Four: These idiots forget they hated Cuba because it was allied with Russia

It's worse than that. Trumps base won't say a bad word about Putin. 65 years of cold war hysteria, completely whipped away by Putin allying with the Russian churches on a gayhaters campaign. Now he's the bestest foreign buddy wuds there is. That's all it took. When W was in they despised Putin as much as Bin Laden.

I used to find myself defending Russia over the years because the Americans depicted the country as baby eating tyrants in a backward culture, everyone going too far and making shit up as they wouldn't look into the reality. Now, the same asses that claimed that have spun right the other way and it's based mostly on that hooking up with the church and aggressive anti-gay laws.
Also helped that they accused Hillary of literally everything, painting her as worse than anyone. After what they've said about her anyone looks better, she's got to leave, she'll never get over the hatchet job they've done, for the good of the party get out now Hill.

People pay for unimaginative scrawlings like that?

In newspapers & magazines such as "Private Eye", they have scathing political cartoons; both Conservative and Labour politicians. Gerald Scarfe & Ralph Steadman being the most savage visual satirists.

Yet, the biggest collectors of the original art works are the politicians themselves; Labour's Denis Healey had the biggest collection, which he sometimes exhibited in galleries.

In the same way these days, British celebrities say that you haven't 'made it' until you've been featured in a parody article in "Viz" Comic. It wouldn't surprise me if Sir Elton John had bought the original art used in the comic strips about him.

I doubt that a certain someone would do the same, re. this comic strip (now) series in "Private Eye":
