When we were first married neither my wife nor I were strong Christians. Sad to say we mainly gave lip service to the Lord. It has only been in the last year that I have seen the error of my life—but my wife has not been willing to see how unsaved our lives had been. She is still likely to allow our sons to watch stuff like this Oprah; or allow them to read books like Harry Potter. It has been very frustrating to try and keep satan out of our lives while she seems to want to invite him back in.

She lets her sons watch Oprah and read Harry Potter books? That heartless bitch!
Seriously, hooray for your wife.
@anti-nonsense
I truly hope so. While a full fledged infection to Fundyiasis is very difficult to cure, I do notice that there's a substantially higher recovery rate in those with slight exposure.
I wanna go on the record...if she keeps faith, that's awesome. Faith can be a beautiful thing. But not to the point of willing to sacrifice all.
So i see on the rapture ready thread that there is a huge fear of oprah... and I don't get it. God forbid someone teach millions of women how to correctly handle their money, start to read again, and spend time on themselves and their communities...oh wait, now I get it. GET BACK IN YOUR HOUSE, WIMMINS!
PTK, you are POSSESSED by an evil book!!!1!
Visit a psychiatrist IMMEDIATELY! Your family's fate is in the balance!

Perhaps she's secretly a Satanist. Have you searched her for a 'witch's mark' yet? Remember, the devil is cunning, so be sure to use your pin or bodkin on every inch of her skin, to be absolutely sure.
The wearing of decent 'protection' is also advised.

No, wait! I can see PTKs' line of reasoning. Oprahs' production company is called Harpo, which is her name spelled backwards. Now, everyone knows that spelling words backwards is satanic (especially English words, as it's Gods' holy language). Therfore, Oprah must be a servant of the Horned one.
QED.
Well, by all means beat her into submission! You are the lord of the manor after all. It's what your "good" book would recommend.
And if your son is watching Oprah, boy, are you going to get your panties in a knot when he brings his first boyfriend home!
black lager:
I doubt it's that complicated, as we're dealing with fundies here. She's black, she's a woman, and she's talking about ungodly things on TV. Evil ensues.
Sounds to me like you should learn from your wife. She is the far STRONGER CHRISTIAN of the two of you and has MORE FAITH in her God than you do. She has enough confidence in her faith in God(and her ability to instill it in her sons) that she does not fear ficional books or other views of religion. You, on the other hand, seem to view your beliefs as founded on such shallow roots that they are not strong enough to withstand even the most minimal challenge. It must be hard for a woman of her great faith in God to live with a person of so LITTLE faith in his own belief in God.
Go Flipper. That's the way to tell him. Strong wife, like that one!
Oh, to have the faith of a mustard seed - but wait, he doesn't!
she'd best leave before you COMPLETELY lose what's left of your feeble mind.
What's wrong, went to those church-basement AA meetings?
Flipper: pwning Rapture Ready, one idiot at a time.
Seriously, I applaud the wife. I hope she files for divorce, gets the kids, and finds a mate that isn't a total loon.
Confused?
So were we! You can find all of this, and more, on Fundies Say the Darndest Things!
