This Australian video informs us that rather than being granted special protected status, “gay, lesbian, bi, and intersex people” are treated brutally as a result of their perversions. We also learn that there is no free will or virtue involved in choosing to indulge or not to indulge in sexual grotesquery; being a pervert is the moral equivalent of being left-handed[...]

Can anyone help with these two questions: 1) Why is it so important to the liberal ruling class to promote sexual depravity; and 2) What the hell is an intersex person?

Wow, way to do your research there. Intersex people are perverts before you even know what the word means?

"Intersex" refers to people who are biologically neither male nor female - as if God couldn't make up his mind. Typically they pick one gender and stick to it, but not always. They are very much born that way.

No legislation (in the US at least) has ever given gays more rights than straights. All legislation has extended existing non-discrimination rights to cover "sexual orientation and gender identity" as categories, without specifying which members of those categories ought to be covered. That is, if your boss is gay, he can't fire you for being straight either. Betcha didn't think of that one, did you? Luckily the laws you so ignorantly despise would protect you.

As to whether gays are "perverts"... well, I personally think "pervert" is a pretty much useless term. Are straight couples who engage in oral and anal sex perverts? Some would say yes, some no. I don't see gay sex as any more perverted than any other kind of sex, personally, even though I wouldn't want to try it myself. It's very much a matter of opinion.

But once again we see people who think orientation exclusively refers to sex, and no thought is given to romance. If you were never allowed to have sex again, wouldn't you still want to date, kiss, fall in love with, live your life with someone of the opposite gender? It's the same with gays, only that's with the same gender.

When fundies have an argument they think works, you can bet they'll keep using it for as long as they possibly can, even though it stopped convincing anyone else long ago. They are to argumentation what Simpsons is to television.

This is a bad submission. The video Dave Blount is refering to isn't linked to, so there's some context missing: the video "argues" that being homosexuals and being left-handed are both outdside of that persons control, so as normal people today don't bully people that are left-handed they also shouldn't bully homosexuals. So Dave isn't saying it's the same thing, just that it is the complete opposite - what he is doing, in his usual despicable manner - is assuming revisionist talking points as truth and then playing it as if non-homophobes were stupid.

Ironicly, I remember my father was after getting adopted and send to school forced to use the right hand instead of his natural left, as he was told by teachers and adoptive parents alike that was "the devil's hand". Well, that was fourty years ago, in thirty years the notion that homosexuals are just mental unhealthy will be equally idiotic.

The privilege granted is to not be bludgeoned to death for holding hands with your loved one in public, asshole!

The only thing we are promoting is human rights. There IS no free will involved in being born with homosexuality or left-handedness. We are not talking about moral equivalence, but biological equivalence.

To me, it's more perverted to be bigoted and discriminatory, than to be in love with a person of the same gender.

1. The important thing is to promote human rights, equal protection and equal opportunities, because that is the only decent thing to do.
2. An intersex person is born with the genitalia/characteristics of both genders, making it impossible to determine the gender just by looking. Don't you have access to an encyclopedia, or what?

Two entirely different issues, here.

1. Anyone who has either studied embryology or seen the "pickle babies" at the Chicago Museum of Science and Industry knows that, until the fourth month of gestation, the fetal crotch resembles the west coast of Alaska. The basic elements externally are a phallic stub, two perineal folds, and a slight fossa in back. Internally, there are parallel systems: Wolfian ducts, which potentially give rise to testes and the internal organs of the male, and Mullerian ducts, which develop into the ovaries, Fallopian tubes, uterus, and upper vagina of the female. From the fourth month on, the external genitalia are supposed to configure themselves into the pattern for one sex of the other, the appropriate internal duct system is supposed to develop into the corresponding gonads and internal organs, and testicles are supposed to descend into the now fused scrotum of the male, while the exterior fossa and upper vagina of the female are supposed to join up and form a complete birth canal. Note all the "supposed to's". In fact, it's a wonder only 1% of all live births are intersexual (no case of true hermaphroditism - the ability to function reproductively as male and female- has ever been documented in human beings, and that's why the phrase is no longer used).

2. The other issue is whether homosexual relations are inherently depraved. Broken down into discrete acts and minutely described, no biological activity seems appetizing. Outside the field of medicine, we are simply supposed to be able to eat, drink, sleep, and screw with natural ease and enthusiasm. And, to quote Lady Chatterly's gamekeeper, if folks would do their own fucking, they wouldn't have to talk a lot of clatfart about other people's.
