No, America was created as a safe haven for people to practice whatever beliefs or lack thereof they had without fear of persecution at the hands of a state-enforced religion, which is exactly what you fundies keep trying to turn America into.
What makes you single out the United States as a haven for child abuse? I can go throughout the world and throughout history to give you examples, and I can assure you that Christians are indistinguishable from any other group, except perhaps that they are more sneaky about it.
