I'm thinking of coining a new word to describe this fanatic obsession with Israel that certain Fundies possess: Israelolatry.
Isn't this guarantee to Israel - America's lynch pin in foreign policy - the whole basis of the endless war in the middle east? (No, I'm excluding Iraq for the present). A more evenhanded approach over all the years, viz support for bother sides there to come to a permanent peace without special treatment for Israel, could well have avoided all the arab Islamis attacks down all the years, and even the terrible event in September 2001. Yet here we have this dolly calling herself 'Southern Lady' wittering on about breaking his word to Israel (by Obama). It might be the best thing that ever happened is what a patriotic American might consider saying. It would go a long way towards lifting the terrorist threat. But no. Religion gets in the way and this foolish person wants her Rapture rather than peace. That's the pernicious nature of born-again religion. It is a religion of hate and war.
If he manages to fuck things up worse than Bush, he deserves a medal. And to be catapulted into the Sun.
But I'll give him the benefit of the doubt. Because it would be hard for his to screw up that bad if he was trying.
