[On the Orlando shooting]
This is horrific. Thinking of the terror of facing death when you know you are not right with God. Praying for repentance and salvation for all survivors involved.

@Admiral Nopants: Yep. After all, if they were capable of empathy or understanding they might have to reexamine themselves and their actions. They don't want to have to do that, so they repress their empathy and that of their children.
@Admiral Nopants: no. They're not.
In many cases, any empathy and morality they might have had withered and died before it had a chance to develop beyond pre-conventional moral reasoning: "You shouldn't do that because Daddy will spank you if you do."
Hey Accepted, suppose it was a Christian church that got attacked during service and someone wrote "This is horrific. Thinking of the terror of facing death when you know you are not certain whether there really is a God or if you're seconds away from just ceasing to exist. Strongly hoping for a 'There is nothing to them silly old stoopidstitions' faith abandonment for all survivors involved."
You wouldn't accept that, would you?
I know not why men should so fear death, seeing that death, a necessary end, will come when it will come. A coward dies a thousand deaths, a brave man dies but one!(G. J. Ceasar, according to W. Shakespear.) Everyone has a birthday, and everyone has that sad other day. Do something good in between.(According to me!) And yes, not being allowed into Valhalla scares me silly.
Hey Rejected, I don't think that's what the victims and survivors where thinking when Omar Mateen was shooting up the place. Reality of it is, you would be thinking the same thing they were.
Knowing these people, they would be praying "Oh dear God, don't let me die." When they don't die, they will be kissing their god's ass for "keeping them alive".
Yeah, hate to break it to you, but lots of people die knowing they're "not right with God", Christians included. That's kinda what happens when your deity is a schizoid maniac with unclear rules.
Why aren't they right wih God? How do you know that they didn't accept Jesús as their saviour, which is the only requisite? After that, you can be a serial killer with no repercusion(unless you're gay or vote for Obama, apparently)
When I was 15, my life was literally threatened. Like, the person intended to kill me with a baseball bat after mistaking me for the man who attacked him and I had to talk him down. I was sitting on a curb and one or two blows could have done it. I was a hard core Christian, but I don't remember god even entering my mind. I just frantically pleaded that he had the wrong guy. It worked. I never even told my parents our friends about it, as I didn't want to hear about how I shouldn't be taking walks and hanging out in the middle of the night like that.
What you and your ilk do, "Accepted" To The Asylum, is see a pile of corpses, and climb on top of it so your voice can be heard better.
