Oh, fuck....of course she's gotta jump on the "Hawking's not an atheist anymore" bandwagon. Chalk up another one for the "reasons Lady Checkmate is a horrible person" list, I guess.

As for the "hey Mr. atheist" thing....doesn't she realize many atheists were believers at one point? Probably mostly Christians, too, at least in this part of the world.
Oh, well, at least she's not trying to twist something he said to make it sound like he did believe in God, like I saw some people saying before he died, usually with his "then we would know the mind of God" quote. Funny how we're not hearing from those people now...

The conservative Christians really are letting their hatred of science show with all this thinly-veiled celebratory joy they have any time a famous scientist dies. The sad part for them is that science marches on regardless, continuing to find answers to questions about the universe. Answers which don't include a god.
And any god which would punish someone like Stephen Hawking with eternal torment is not a god I would want to worship anyway.

Since she working with many years of being schooled and refusing to learn I know she's aware the shutting out and yelling over logic is a feature of fundamentalism.
