Why don't you wear pants? We decided that pants were not appropriate for the women in the family.
Deuteronomy 22:5 states the Lord's opinion on women who wear men's clothing. I do not want to do anything that is an abomination to the Lord. Notice that throughout the Bible the Lord prescribes different but complimentary roles for men and women, provider/helpmeet, husband/wife. father/mother. God clearly wants there to be a difference between men and women. Pants only became acceptable 30 to 40 years ago as the feminists urged women to act like men. Pants, no matter how loose, still show the female figure much more than a loose skirt or dress. The Lord really opened my eyes when I noticed the women I was standing or walking behind when I was out in public.

Using Biblical law to justify the shame you appear to have for your own body seems kind of sad to me. There are so many more commands in the book about how you should act, dress, speak and live. I notice that you only seem to adhere to the ones you feel worthy. Interesting bit of cherry picking wouldn't you say hmmm?
"The Lord really opened my eyes when I noticed the women I was standing or walking behind when I was out in public."
Closet lesbian, perhaps?
Deuteronomy 22:5 states the Lord's opinion on women who wear men's clothing.
But trousers (read: "pants" - I'm English, stfu) are no longer considered exclusively men's clothing, they haven't been for decades, and nothing in the bible says they are, so what exact basis are you working with?
"Pants, no matter how loose, still show the female figure much more than a loose skirt or dress."
Yeah! They show women have legs, and we all know that's a HORRIBLE LIE FROM SATAN!!
"Pants...still show the female figure more than a loose skirt or dress. The Lord really opened my eyes when I noticed the women I was standing or walking behind when I was out in public."
From these posts, does anyone else get the impression that most fundies are repressing something?

Just like pants on a man. Should men start wearing dresses too?
The Lord really opened my eyes when I noticed the women I was standing or walking behind when I was out in public.
Heh heh heh.
But, but but, then "getting into someone's (female) pants" would lose all meaning.
We can't have that. Can we?
"The Lord really opened my eyes when I noticed the women I was standing or walking behind when I was out in public."
Yeah, I'm sure you were just looking for the lord...
Come on admit is Susan, you're a lesbian!
If you're going by the bible, no-one should be wearing pants.
In most ancient cultures, both men and women wore long flowing garments, more similar to dresses than pants. Even Jesus wore a dress.
So, all you good Christian men better take off those pants now, and start truly following Jesus's example!
"Pants, no matter how loose, still show the female figure much more than a loose skirt or dress."
That's so true... Now tell me what you think about tightly fitting, lowcut frilly tops.
"God clearly wants there to be a difference between men and women."
Sweetheart, in case you hadn't noticed, men very often have a slight protruberance in the front of their pants. This is because the have penises and testicles. This is what makes them men.
OTOH, women don't have this bulge in the front of their pants because they don't have the aforementioned organs. In fact they have vaginas.
Now someone should really have drawn your attention to this before now. This is how God fulfilled his wish that men and women should be different. The wearing of pants has nothing to do with it whatsoever.
BTW, Roman men used to wear sort of kilts, and the Scots and Irish still do on occasion. And I have some news for you, these kilt-wearing men do not wear anything under those kilts.
Quick. Someone fetch her the semlling salts! LOL
Jesus wore a dress.
Now STFU.
Roman culture held that pants were women's wear. No real idea why.
Also, most women around here wear pants. I've begun to notice women in skirts. Go figure.
Virtually, every piece of clothing you were belonged, sometime in history, to one sex or the other, so, unless you go naked....................
This one might fall apart just a little when you realize that when it was written, no one wore pants. Both sexes wore robes. There were differences between male robes and female ones, but then there are differences between male pants and female ones.
I would think a skirt would be worse, easier access to the goodies. I mean, really, all you gotta do is stick your hand up there. With pants you unbutton, unzip.....way harder to get to the pudenda.
So skirts=easy.
I don't know about others, but I buy MY pants in the women's department, therefore they are women's clothing.
And I feel much less exposed wearing pants then wearing a skirt.
"I do not want to do anything that is an abomination to the Lord."
Do you
Work on the Sabbath?
Eat shellfish?
Wear clothes of mixed fabrics?
Cut your hair?
Were you a non-virgin on your wedding night?
Have you ever talked back to your parents?
All of these are an "abomination to the lord", according to your bible.
Chapter and verse in the Bible where it says “Pants are men's clothing”, please. No, I don’t mean a verse where it says that men and women ought to have different clothes, I mean a verse where the word “pants” is used as definition of men’s clothing.
There are a number of silly, everyday things that are an abomination to the lord.
Working on the Sabbath.
Cutting your hair and beard.
Touching a menstruating woman.
Growing the wrong crop in the wrong field.
Wearing clothes of mixed fabrics.
Etc...
Confused?
