In other words, plagiarism.
If someone really were copying and pasting from an alternate source and not citing, then, yes, it would be plagiarism. Since your only proof of this is another RR poster's claim that atheists are copying and pasting (because, apparently, she has difficulty following logical thought patterns), I'm going to go out on a limb here and say that you're flat out wrong.
They may be good at making themselves *look* intelligent, but none of it would stand in an actual classroom, because the ideas are not original, nor are they cited.
As another commenter has already said, originality has nothing to do with whether or not something is correct. Something that is thought of as common knowledge--like evolution--does not need to have cited sources within an online discussion.
And, personally, I think evolution and other subject matter that you've probably deemed as "garbage"--like sociology and psychology--are more suited to a classroom than your religion and pseudo-science of creationism.
I really have to wonder if they understand just what it is they are copying and pasting.
Here you go with the copying and pasting claim again. Which, even if it were true, is completely hypocritical since I know for a fact that some creationists have a bad habit of copying and pasting from their favorite creationist sites. I've seen people do this. I even did it back when I was fourteen and gullible.
I've occasionally read through some of that garbage, and it is so redundant and full of holes.
Only because you obviously don't understand it. Also, have you ever taken a serious look at your own beliefs? I'm thinking not, because if you did, you should have figured out by now that they're pretty damn moth eaten themselves. This is why I'm not a Christian anymore (not in the way you would define a Christian, anyway).
They think that just because they use a few big words, that all of us will necessarily be hopelessly confused and taken aback.
Considering the fact that a previous poster on your site actually stated that the things atheists said went right over her head...I'm going to have to say that this is not an unreasonable assumption.
It's like they're convinced that we're half illiterate or something.
Not all of you. You, for example, have managed to formulate mostly coherent sentences, but the majority of posters on RR? Come on, I'm sure you've noticed the atrocious grammar and spelling that runs rampant through their posts. Right?
Right?
