[Do you realize how ridiculous you sound?
Hell, if you believe that, just make yourself attracted to men for one day and then switch back. It's not a sin if you don't do anything, and surely it would be an interesting experience.]
sure if you wanted to .... its all about mind over matter... the mind is a very strong tool...you should learn how to use it more...
if you really wanted something and put your mind into it you can do anything.... like ive said before the mind is a powerful tool and if you know how to use it you can do anything you want....
[Then do it. Make yourself be attracted to men. You don't have to do anything about it; just make yourself be physically attracted to men.]
see i dont want to...

I'm not gay, but I'm pretty sure no gay would really want to be gay. Who would want to shunned and persecuted by society and not have there own kids? So why the hell is it a choice to these people? They just want equality, and no, you can't just "cure it" without risking psychological damage. I like tits, but I can't just stop liking them.

Listen, I'm Canadian. I can assure you that your 'girlfriend' does not live here.
Nope.
Can't do it.
I'm wired to feel sexually attracted to women, and no matter how hard I try, I can't make myself feel the same way about men.
Neither can you, unless you're either bi or gay to begin with.
Are you?

Heh, that reminds me of a scene from the play "Avenue Q". I don't know if that was what you were going for, though...
Anyway, to the topic at hand. I don't really think that it would be possible to do that without intense mental conditioning. (I'm not a psychologist, so take what I say with a grain of salt... scratch that. Take it with the whole damn shaker) I mean, I can point out the traits that women find sexually attractive in men, but that information doesn't bring me any closer to getting a hard-on when thinking about a man with said traits.
I do agree with Outlaws93 on one point, though. I also believe that the mind is a very strong tool.
Sorry if my post makes no sense. Fixing my mail server sapped me of the ability to form coherent sentences... -__-
Well then, that makes you a hypocrite. If you think homosexuals should force themselves to be attracted to the opposite sex, you should stand behind that by forcing yourself to be attracted to the same sex.
@Robert
You're wrong. Plenty of gay people love being gay. I know I do. I wouldn't want to be straight for anything! Didn't choose it, though, of course.
Actually, interestingly enough, I have known more straight people who wish they were gay than the other way around, and I have known a lot of gay people. :)
Well, it doesn't work that way.
I definitely believe in the power of positive thinking being able to accomplish things when you put your mind to it.
But, only things that can be affected; only things that can be changed in the first place.
No matter what I did or thought or tried to force myself to believe, I could never, ever just "become" homosexual. Not because I believe it is wrong but because I was born heterosexual. It is who I am; I was just made that way.
Tell me, what makes you think someone would choose to be gay? What makes you think someone would choose to live a life that is ridiculed? What would make someone choose to live without rights, with the threat of death from bigots, with constant hatred?
The arrogance and ignorance of bigots, and fundie bigots at that, is astounding.
@Tina
Not to put words in Robert's mouth, but what he means is...given a choice, who would opt to be a member of what is likely one of the most scorned and reviled groups in the world? Am I happy with who I am? Of course. Is there a tiny part of me that wishes I was straight, just so I wouldn't have to deal with half the flak I have to put up with? I'd be lying if I said no. Not because there's any self-loathing, but because of ignorant used prophylactics like the OP.
Confused?
