70% of the world's population speak English. So, if God were to give a Bible to the people of the world, is it not safe to assume he would use the most common language- that being English... I believe God (having the foresight that he does) saw that in the future English, because of capitalism and whatnot, would be the language a majority of the world would speak. If He would have seen Spanish in that role maybe we'd have a Spanish Bible in place of KJV.... And as for the Greek or Hebrew texts (and this is strictly OPINION) i believe it's careless at the least and dangerous at the most severe to have a preacher go back to these writings... What's wrong with taking the KJV and, whatever you don't understand, having the Holy Spirit reveal to you.

If God really had foresight he would have taken steps to keep his message of love clean and simple - not bastardized into hatred, condemnation, judgement and persecution of non-believers.
I was taught Christianity in Spanish at a Catholic school. All the useless Hail Marys and Lord's Prayers I ever said were in Spanish, obviously I was in the claws of teh debble!

Why? Because they're the original texts? Newsflash, the liturgy of my church is sung and spoken in both English and Ancient Greek. Where would that leave us, I wonder?

Lots of people speak a bit of English, but a lot less then 70 percent of people speak it well enough to read the KJV, I think a lot of native speakers would have trouble if they actually tried reading the KJV, instead of just listening to chewed up and regurgitated bits of it at Church.
Let me guess - you're not a Professor of Theology, nor a senior member of any Christian clergy who has studied the original texts in Greek, Hebrew - or even Aramaic. The language that was common during Jesus' time.
If you were, you'd know that if it weren't for said texts, then there wouldn't be any KJV for you fundies to drool over. And before you embark on that theology degree, I suggest a quick trip to elementary school for an education in geography, re. numbers of English-speakers in the world. Oh, and one more thing: King James, who authorised and edited said version of the Bible? He was a homosexual.

Heaven forbid that people should attempt to use original (or as close to original as they can get) texts to try to really understand what is being said!!!

70% of the worlds population right now might be speaking English. 4000 years ago nobody spoke English, not anything you'd recognize as English, at least.
What's so special about the KJV? Why that one and not one of the other thousands upon thousands of translations and interpretations?

By your own words you denounce yourself as fighting against God's plan for humanity. If you are so convinced that English is God's chosen language and that the KJV is the one true bible, the literal Word of the Holy Spirit, why don't you speak Jacobean English in your day-to-day affairs?
Modern English did not exist before ~1400-1500 CE, while most of the Bible was written between 700 BCE and 70 CE. Your argument is invalid.
By the way, there are errors in the KJV. For example, bats are birds , and also the inclusion of the Comma Johanneum.
