(emph-ass-is added; clearly the irony of his statement isn't lost on him):
"They all should be taken out back and shot because in America we appreciate the fact that we live a life that the the whole world envy."
Oh yes. I envy the fact that I could get shot in a driveby, crossfire with criminals vs. police, or in a robbery, and I just happen to be walking by the premises.
In all my born days here in the UK, I've never even heard gunfire outside of the TV/cinema/videogame, nor have I even so much as been mugged by a criminal - even with so much as a knife, never mind a gun.
Thank fuck for our police's Zero Tolerance policy towards knives in public. To say nothing of the banning of guns here in the UK, post-Dunblane. After a lobbying campaign to Parliament by members of the public.
I - an Englishman, safe to walk the streets at night - am supposed to 'Envy' your country, Tanner?

Oh, no more please, Mr. Wilde, I am bereft of ribs! [/hyper-sarcasm]
"Whoever doesn't stand for the pledge is not an American and is probably a homo, Muslim or related to Michael Moore."
Americentric much, Tannypoos? What about British people who are tourists? Would you stand for- and even sing - 'God Save The Queen' if our national anthem was played, when a member of our royal family (especially the Queen) were in the US on a state visit - and you were there?
...what's that? You wouldn't? Well then. You've just destroyed your own argument, nay, exposed your own bigotry and inherent Americentric and right-wing hypocrisy, double standards & doublethink.
