Here's why I'm against it (myspace)....one of the first questions asked when you join is if you're gay or not. I don't think christians should have anything to do with it.

Done!
Because good christian girls aren't supposed to lie and say they're straight when they have a date lined up with Alice?
Reality it seems was just a dream
She couldn't get it on with the boys on the scene
But what do you expect from a chick who's just sixteen
And hey, hey, hey, you know what I mean
All the young girls love Alice
Tender young Alice they say
Come over and see me
Come over and please me
Alice it's my turn today

Is there anything that doesn't frighten or threaten these kids?
Nope.
They hate that question? its just a question.
Oh, wait, maybe its because they have to, how'd they put it again... "Fight the urges" all the time and are afraid their repressed subconcious might answer the truth for them?
Because to me its just a bloody yes or no question. Then again, I'm not 'torn' between religion and homosexuality myself so what would I know, I'm just some straight atheist dude that just can't bring himself to constantly and endlessly (not to mention graphically from some of the quotes around here) obsess over gay sex. Obviously there's something wrong with me.
Well, I guess Tiff deserves credit for not lying about her sexual orientation, which is apparently gay. Otherwise, if she were straight, what would be the problem?
"What's your sexuality?" is now offensive to Christians. Let's chalk that up with violence (unless it's Biblical violence), sex, other religons, other cultures, aliens, science, science-fiction, fantasy, fiction in general (unless it's Biblical fiction), and flag burning.
Because anyone who would let you tell the truth is vile, vile.
Burning Stake:
"Personally, I think having that question there is kind of dumb since it's no-one else's business if you're gay or not. But since I'm guessing the majority of myspace users aren't fundamentalist Christians I can understand why it would be be up there if anyone does care."
It's a dating site, a networking site, a friend making site; all of which involve looking for people based on sexual orientation. God forbid a gay guy looking for other gay guys for a date, huh? And it's not even a question. It's an option. You also have the option not to say if it has nothing to do with why you're there, or you're just in the fucking closet.
If you have a look at so many of those myspace pages, it does make perfect sense if they do ask if you might be gay.
But then again, it's like asking people at a Bush rally if they live in trailer parks.
Confused?
