I get the feeling that in many cases, they don't even see practicing their religion as exercising a freedom, but rather as fulfilling their duty to God. (Whether they see and accept this consciously might be a different story; Robert T. Lee-types are hopefully few and far between)
So for such ones, you should revise as follows:
"Do not hearken to angry dispensationalists. Such ones hate free thought because they hate freedom itself, along with all else save God and divine destiny, and such madness drives them into corruption."
Or thereabouts...
1. If a "radical homosexual activist" is an atheist, s/he can't hate God, because s/he doesn't believe God exists.
2. If homosexuals do hate God, I can see why. God makes them homosexual, and then tells them that being homosexual is a sin. I'd hate God, too.
So if I were a gay man, I would hate marriage and God. This would make me guilty, so I would be driven to extreme measures... like wanting to get married?
Maybe it would make more sense if I read the whole article, but there's only so much barely disguised "I-hate-gays-I-hate-them-so-very-much-why-won't-any-of-them-go-to-bed-with-me" sentiment one can take.

I think this is the guy who wrote the incredibly moronic article about Mass Effect on Townhall a couple months back! Penny Arcade even did a comic on it, and Tycho gave him the benefit of the doubt, idiocy wise. Looks like he was wrong.

Every time I hear someone insinuating that homosexuality is contagious, I have an overwhelming urge to run up to them and lick them on the face, and then inform them that they've been infected with TEH GHEY!
458414: Actually, that only works for Catholic priests (except for any specific priests who might be trying to restore rights to marry). Orthodox priests (and, I might add, Jewish rabbis) are EXPECTED to marry. In fact, I think I heard that an unmarried Jewish man is somehow considered incomplete (of course, I can't remember where I read it...{grumble}).
