I was at a grocery store today and saw a dying world. From the old music that i've heard millions of times to the same old stuff they have been selling for years to the tired faces of the cashiers. I could tell that it won't be long until all the goodness and vitality is sapped out of this world and we are taken out of here.

She is exactly right. Except no benevolent god is going to transport us out of this mess to paradise. Instead we wil have to go on living in a world in which our Cultural heritage, our ability to be human, has been stolen and replaced with mass-marketed pseudo-culture, a world in which no one listens to Mozart or can read Latin.
Workers that are tired at the end if the shift = Armageddon.
Keep reaching in for your reasoning, and you'll have an asshole the size of a moon crater.
Smile!, whistle a happy tune!, give a cheery "Good day!" to the poor fuck behind the cash register, say "Please" and "thank you", shop elsewhere! and above all else, Stop posting on Rapture ready!!
You will soon find the world a better place.
I see two possibilities here.
The first: The world is dying, and rapture is imminent.
The second: Jubilee is suffering from depression.
Occam's razor suggests the latter.
Repent for the end is nigh.
Perhaps you should try a new grocery store pal.
Damn, if I thought the world was going to end because of the sullen faces I see every day I'd top myself 30secs after getting into work on a Monday morning.
Tell me when the Rapture/Holocaust is about to happen. I want to watch the event. I mean, you seem to know when it's about to happen, so I assume you can infer when the time is nigh. Let me go pick up a beach chair and some soda.
obviously a different world from mine: the music that I enjoy remains vibrant - even the dying falls.
The beauty to be found by the unjaded remains - colours fresh, and all the wonders of our world reachable.
If you weren't so focussed on a non-existant rapture you'd find a life
I was at a ... store today and ... from the old music that i've heard millions of times to the same old stuff they have been selling for years to the tired faces of the cashiers, I could tell that ... all the vitality is sapped out of ... here.
Yes, that fucking Muzak does that to me, too. I work in one of those. 9 hours of Phil Collins and Barry Manilow prove to me that torture has been legal here for a looooong time. Why can't I just take a couple hours of waterboarding and turn the damn shit off for the rest of my shift?
I agree with the first two sentences, but then, I've struggled with depression since I was 12. You, JoE, aren't helping at all.
This terribly depressed person, who can hardly wait for the end of the world, has the username "Jubilee" (i.e., celebration)? That's a lovely irony. Maybe she's just an X-Men fan.

Grocery store music and tired cashiers mean the world is ending? Why do you guys hate life so much? Don't any of you RR people ever enjoy anything? The world can suck and it's pretty scary at times but there are plenty of things that make life worth living. Sorry you don't feel comfortable unless you're depressed and bitching about how eeevil everyone and everything is. Except for you of course. I guess all your righteousness isn't impressing Jesus any, though, since he isn't giving you that peace that Christians are always claiming to have.
I haven't slept well in a couple of days, that has made me tired and cranky, Muzak gets on my nerves, however none of this is a sign of the end of the world.

Well there ya go, it wont be long so quit trying to hurry it up.

not all of us, only some of us, for example, you will be taken out of here by the nice men in white coats in a special van and put in a lovely padded room.
Sounds more like a run-of-the-mill burnout to me. I sometimes feel that way, and I have no fancies that the Real End Is Near. Just means I need a change, is all. Perhaps that is what Jubilee on Earth needs.
I go and listen to Tchaikovsky or go watch a movie or go hike the Grand Canyon. Very refreshing.
Maybe it's the crappy elevator music that's making the workers so sad and tired-looking.
It makes me sad having to endure it for the thirty to forty-five minutes I have to spend in the store getting groceries. I can't imagine eight to ten hours of it.
"... the same old stuff they have been selling for years ..."
What, food you mean? That's not their fault, is it? The supermarkets are constantly trying to come up with exciting new products that people will go for. Perhaps God should invent some new fruits and meats and vegetables for them to sell and for the foodservice factories to play with: then we might have some brand new products on offer, and that would certainly cheer the cashiers up and make the world a better place.
But wait ... God doesn't work that way, because he doesn't exist and even if he did, on the evidence of the Old Testament and Revelation, and Rapture Ready, he'd rather destroy things.

Then perhaps you should try to revitalise it by not talking about your vicious invisible friend all the time.
Confused?
