So... your assertion is that libertines are the parasites while the ones who are more grounded are productive? You're right, but for the wrong reason.
You seem to think that the mass of the population are libertines. Not true. To get all Randroid on you (clearly where this is going) it was the protagonists having a hissy fit who were the libertines. They're the ones who had all the sex, without committment or emotion. And if you throw in "The Fountainhead" your libertine 'heroes' would have to condone statutory rape (in that there was implied consent, not informed consent.) And all those Randroid heroes were selfish exploiters, growing fat and rich off the torturous toil of the lower classes.

I've noticed this argument over time, for many years, and think it's growing as of late - "We;re the producers, you're the exploiters, you need us." It's always been there, but I suspect it's come up for other reasons.
With demographic changes in America, pearl87 and her ilk are people who are being squeezed out. What they had merely due to being white and supposeldy Christian isn't guaranteed. So they've latched even harder onto the "productivity" story and will probably start arguing against democracy and the like because it doesn't recognize how special they are.
Living in one of the supposed libertine hells of America, it seems the people around me are far more productive than people screaming about how America is going downhill.

Chevy loving, Harley obsessed, War mongering, church commited, cultive personality infected and racist uneducated white trash.
They won't label them as such but it all has boiled down to this for over forty years. The very popular "reality" shows all pander to this stupid, easily pleased by shiny and loud, ignorant of history or the world today and unwilling to learn, gullible idiots and the fundie religion promotes all this behavior.
