So all you people believe that if you put your hand in front of your face that the image of the hand you are seeing is actually in your skull (behind your eyes) and not right in front of you?...the image of your hand is in your brain, not outside your brain (where it actually is)? You've got to be kidding me. Is there any other reason needed why nobody trusts science anymore? what a bunch of quacks.

The old "I don't understand it so it must be stupid" argument. He should read Richard Feynman's "QED" and find out how weird the image of our hand that we see really is. Hint: if we see our hand reflected in a window, how come some of the light bounces back to us and we see its reflection, while some of it goes through the window and the guy outside sees it? How does some of the light "decide" to come back to us and some of it doesn't?
Ah, so supersport is saying an Object and an Image of that Object are the same thing? There's no possibility that Image and Object could be different things in different places? That's what he's saying?

In order for our brains to perceive that what our eyes are looking at is, in fact, our own hand, the image gathered by the retina is transmitted to the brain, where it makes sense of what it's seeing.

Simply put your eyes pick up light bouncing off the surface of the hand and your brain interprets the image to form the hand in front of you. If you don't believe me take out your visual cortex or nerves\arteries behind the eye.

Look. The 'hand' you see is a RECREATED IMAGE of your hand, which your brain has made based on the data it receives from your eyes. In other wordss, we see with our brain, not our eyes; our eyes only collect the data.
The reason it seems that you are seeing your HAND touch your face is that a very clever illusion is made: your skin's touch sensors activate at the SAME TIME as the image appears in front of your eyes.
You FEEL your hand but DO NOT SEE your hand - you see an IMAGE of your hand.
There, done. Go away.
