If it was someone with Manic Depression, or similar, at least their neurological/psychological disorder that makes them have such thoughts whilst in their 'down' state can be treated using various methods of therapy (pharmaceutical and/or via psychology). At least these people can't help their condition.
But these Raptards are normal(ish) people who have somehow got it into their brainwashed, self-deluded minds that this world, this reality - this one mortal life we have is so terrible, so vile, so evil, that the alternative - the 'Heaven' that awaits them via the so-called '(C)Rapture' is infinitely better, that they want it to happen a.s.a.f.p.; and so selfish are they wanting such to happen now, that they don't care about everyone else, thus their 'let's fuck up this world for all it's natural resources now, it's not gonna be here tomorrow!' attitude. And what about their family and relatives? Don't they care about them? At least those who experience neurological depression - even at it's lowest ebb - have some semblance of an idea that this life is worth living, and they have family, friends etc who care about them (hence in many cases of attempted suicide, it is indeed 'a cry for help'). Compared with the Raptards' insane 'belief' that a 'Heaven' is superior to this 'life' and this world.
And that's the difference
Conventional sufferers of depression I have every sympathy for (I have a relative who is a Manic Depressive), but these fundie twats deserve only my absolute contempt, if they willingly want to throw away this, the only life they have - based on an extra-Biblical lie, and their insane superstitious 'beliefs'.
Therefore in the case(s) of sopo & co. on Ruptured Retards, I'm one of those on the ground telling this idiot to 'JUMP!'.

They realise the alternative: after all, every day the (C)Rapture doesn't happen, is one more day we Atheists are proved right. And their impatience will eventually overcome them, and therefore the desire will enter their minds, to accelerate the process.
